I don't think it's really relevant for us girls... but I could be wrong...

Why not? Girls have bottoms don't they?

Have you been looking at Dave Zabriskie's nuts?

Yes, it turns out we do!

I thought it was more for those other bits you boys have that are absent on us girls.
I fear you're confusing it with self-indulgence or a political conference.

Thanks for enquiring about this DDD, it's something that I've seen but never really understood. I do remember during the C2C ride (my longest time in the saddle so far in one sitting) that I was finding it rather nice to stand for a brief period to let the air cool down there ;-)

Will have to add it to my wish-list of cycling bits and hope someone treats me......

Bass it's only £7 for the udderly smooth from wiggle, even I can afford that. Just wince every time you sit down infront of the mrs, she'll soon get fed up and buy you some.

I hadn't actually realized how damn cheap that Udderly stuff is! Certainly gonna give it a try, especially as I'm already quite happy with my existing Pearl Izumi cycle shorts, £7 for cream is a lot easier on the wallet then a new, *possibly* more comfortable pair @ >£40

Sorry guys but I don't get it, I've never suffered any chaffing problems or had saddle sores. I do have a bald patch, but we won't go into that

Agree totally, I just don't get it either. Whether I'm on the road bike (up to 100 mile sportives), on multi day rides, or on the MTB I have never used any creams and never had any problems. To me I just have the vision of a rancid sh**ty mess in your shorts which you then have to put on the next day (on multi day rides). Yukk !!

I don't go commando either and wear wickable undies. As I said, absolutely no problems.

Savlon works well. Slap it on, rub it into the skin. No mess, no stains.

...putting the same shorts on the next day without using anti-bacterial cream? now that's yukk!

My general "rule" is bum cream for anything over an hour.

As for shorts. My most expensive shorts (some supposedly fancy Alturas) are also my most uncomfortable. Northwave works best for me.

Yep. Lowe Alpine or Odlo sports-wickable. Works well for me. No messy creams and importantly absolutely no chafing of any sort.

I used to use Udderly Smooth extra care cream with added urea after a ride to keep everything smooth and supple :lol: Now I've clocked what the added urea actually is I've stopped using it and not noticed a lot of difference, other than my skin is now slightly leathery in that area  although I take that to be a natural toughening up, akin to the hands getting used to manual graft etc.

    STOP!

    hang on.

    let me get this right.

You are developing leathery skin in your Toblerone Slot? And you don't think this is a cause for concern?

Now don't get me wrong I'm a pretty broadminded guy but when I can't get my knees together as the land bridge behind my nut sack is rigid - I would be more than a little put out....

Toblerone slot - now that's a wonderful turn of phrase :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: I nearly fell of my chair laughing.

I just took this as a fairly normal toughening up process, evidently not, but at least I can still get my knees together...................................just

One thing I have always wondered is why is the sack sometimes like a walnut, and other times loose like a bag with some marbles inside?

Wow - how cool! Can you imagine going and doing that stage and setting him up as a virtual training partner!

I find 25 miles an hour a struggle on the flat, let alone averaging that.

Do you have a garmin - i have been told to get they 'city navigator'...

Is specialist cream better than Vaseline?

The speeds the pros hold are mental. I mean I rode 95 miles on Sunday's sportive with around the same feet of climb and managed a paltry 18.4mph av. DM was in a tiny bunch and then by himself for a decent period yesterday and manages that av over 112 miles. It's awesome (and slightly depressing)! The speeds they do on the HC climbs are just terrifying.

I have an EDGE 05 with city navigator. I use bikeroutetoaster and bikehike to plot courses and then "send" them direct to the device. Works like a dream. They can also do turn by turn nav which is great for getting around London etc, although the address search isn't wonderful/

I've always used Assos over anything else, although I'll try Udderly Smooth next. My thinking is that with expensive shorts I'd rather use a specialist product. I worry Vaseline would make an oily mess of the chamois.

That data on the Millar TDF stage is ridiculous! Even 18.4mph over 95 miles is pretty damn fine - I might just about manage that, on a good day...

Back on topic though, I have never used any kind of lube, I just kit myself out in 2 pairs of cheapo Decathlon shorts and off I go. My club rides are anything from 40-50 miles to about 70. Never suffered any chafing or "leatheriness". Perhaps I should try this lube stuff though, it may be the answer to higher average speeds...

What the feck is a tolberone slot. Further more where is it. Why would putting kness together do anything to.. hold on what is a land bridge and why would putting my knees together hurt it.

I just put my knees together while sitting down and forgot where my sack was positioned, I felt it in my stomach...

    Even I'm stunned.

Well we if we are going down that road. I don't like how cycling makes my member go small after a bike ride. It takes a few minutes for it to grow back to reasonable size... In other words I couldn't just leap off my bike and go straight into having 'relations' despite best efforts... should I be worried?

Its unfortunate isn't it - particularly as one is normally in lycra and would like to show a bit of volume in that area.
