recently bought a helmet and at my error chose the wrong size, phoned them up when the helmet arrived and they were more than happy to exchange it.

just this minute phoned up their call centre as i have a problem with the sizing on the shin pads and i am unsure on whether to buy them the great vchap has just gone off to try a pair on as his leg measurements are not far off my own.

this man needs a raise or promotion 8)

if you are reading this thank you for your time and effort today
i should hopefully have a call back in 3 mins from him saying whether or not they are suitable

thank you chain reaction !

who is better - chain reaction or wiggle?
Hmm tough call. CRC seem to know what they're doing but Wiggle throw in a packet of Haribo and loyalty discounts. If I had to choose just one it'd be CRC. With the Haribo and discounts =]

If Wiggle offered full size packs of Haribo they'd win hands down!

CRC have a terrible reputation. They are absolutely useless.

Theyve charged my account rather then refunded it, then took a month to put the money they stole, plus the money they were meant to refund me. No apology.

Things I've ordered from them always seem to come in black bin liners, screwed up and covered in duck tape. Everything is either broken, deformed, or damaged in some way. Only thing I've ordered from them that didnt come broken was a woolly hat. And I dont really see how they couldve damaged that anyway.

Lots of people complain about their website being really slow to load, and it sometimes is for me. Very slow delivery compared to wiggle.

    And no haribo.

Wiggle has been absolutely brilliant, amazing customer service.

When I ordered my Focus they phoned twice, first to confirm the order and the second time to make sure I was happy with the bike.
Since then I've ordered loads more stuff including helmets, gloves, shorts, etc; one of the shorts was too big and I got a full refund within a day of sending them back.
Then yesterday I realised I had lost the springs from my rear wheel skewer so I sent them an email and they replied within 15 minutes asking for my details - today the new springs arrived free of charge!

    Excellent customer service.

I was liking CRC but I've had two next day deliveries recently that they've not bothered to put in the post.

Never had a problem with CRC. Quick delivery, and good prices.

Only problem is that the website is so sloooooooooooooooooooow sometimes!

Not bought anything from wiggle yet. Was a bit worried about doing so after reading that some people had concerns about their credit card numbers being 'borrowed' by scumbags....

Never heard that ever. Sounds like an old cyclists wives tale to me.

There was a thread about it on here a while bike. Not sure if it was in MTB, Road or Commuting tho.

the wiggle credit card scamming issue was a few years back now but seems to have been sorted in last couple with added security and intro of paypal and what not. It was quite a big deal in 2005/6 or so I think.

CRC are great though Merlin often push them for quality too. CRC often has the stuff I want out of stock which is probably a factor of me buying the heavily discounted stuff too much!

I still cant believe there was a negative about CRC (other than slow site comments) - Realman seems to have a massive problem with them and thinks there are loads of posts about similar issues - I have never seen any!

Wiggle have some odd stuff sometimes and I dont like their website that much.

I cant decide between Wiggle or CRC. Ive spent more @ Wiggle than CRC but never had any problems with any of them as far as I can remember, they both stock the things I like so just tend to go with whoever is cheapest. The Wiggle dicount is a good incentive and I wish CRC would do something similar. Ive emailed Wiggle for advice before and they were very helpful. Wiggle tend to deliver quicker for me however CRC arent exactly slow. The Haribos are great however I want a bottle opener, never had one yet

crc for me definately not least cause they send stuff by royal mail as opposed to city link.

i always check wiggle just in case but it is rare they are cheap enough for me to part with my cash.

ps, in my line of work we call haribo "morale-ibo" nothing like a tasty chewy sweet to raise your spirits.

Wiggle deliver quickly if you don't pay for priority delivery - 99% next day.
  • CRC have always been sweet and I find Wiggle too expensive! Didn't know about the Haribo thing though! ha ha

So you're paying £4 and you don't get your stuff any quicker than anyone else? How is that fair exactly? Merlin or CRC for me.

I will PM you my address... Send 'em my way :D:wink:

Are they Tangfastics? They are scrummy!

Might be worth trying wiggle out sometime then...Seeing as they have sorted out the credit card fraud problems, and supply Haribo.

    Oh, and Merlin are great!

    Merlin all the way.

Never had an issue with them.

CRC can be touch and go especially with comms.

Wiggle just don't do the all the big brands anymore and they're not the cheapest anymore.

+1 for Wiggle.. no online etailer will ever be perfect but Wiggle aren't bad at all
Spent quite a bit of money with them over the past few years including buying a bike from them in 2008. They threw in a small but quality multitool and Park Tools pedal spanner with the bike order.. a nice touch..
Had one warranty issue which was addressed in a professional and timely manner, never had any "accounting" issues or lost/misplaced orders..

Oh the jellies and bottle openers are a bonus too..

I ordered some shoes from CRC at 8:30 on Mon morning. The invoice shows that the shoes were picked and packed by 11:30 and - farkin hell - the Royal Mail delivered them to my house at 8AM Tues morning. That's less than 24 hours 8)
