    erm badminton & football on the extremely rare occasion. didnt have the patience to wait a year of football training to get some hope of a place than being a constant sub. job hours only make time for roadie cycling.

    I used to do a lot of MTB and climbing until I trashed my AC joint, now I'm too scared of crashing to MTB much at all.
    I started swimming as part of rehabilitating my shoulder, one thing led to another, and now I'm obsessed with triathlon.
    I don't really consider myself to be a serious roadie, but I like the cake stop, particularly the Girls in lycra shorts :D:D

    A fair few shoulder injury sufferers here!

    Mine has dislocated about 30+ times which isn't all that handy. Intense physio now has it 99% under control (according to my physio who regularly sorts me out when I break).

    I have also been doing Karate for 13 years now and still do plus teach.
    Just got back to cycling last year after teaching the kids to ride :)

    Now me and my son ride to training on Saturdays when the weather is good plus he is only 8 at the mo but would like a road bike :)

    sampras38 - so, are you the real-deal..?

    Was wondering when I saw your name, and the fact you used to play tennis to a high level...?

    C'mon, I won't tell! :lol:

    Maybe we have a (BR first..?) celebrity..?

    I did Lau Gar Kung Fu, not for competing but comes in very useful at work, got me out of many a tight spot!

    Dabbled a bit in some others too like Karate, Chinese Kickboxing and general brawling...

    NapoleonD - were you based in Bristol at any stage?

    Our kickboxing group was/is run under the Lau Gar name. Does very well in natiomal competitions. Moved "back" to Cornwall three years ago and the clubs here are cack so just do my own training now. General brawling years were a while back. No point learning martial arts if you have no idea what a real scrap is like...

    Tried Win Chun down here - effective but the lack of any exercise bored me to tears.

    I once considered doing some cyclo cross but decided it was dangerously close to mountain biking.

    Cross country skiing is an acceptable euro substitute in the winter (as done by Ullrich and others).

    I feel it, when I sorrow most;
    'Tis better to have loved and lost;
    Than never to have loved at all."

    Cross country skiiers have the highest V02Max of any athlete. So it's good for fitness!

    Nah, MTBing is the young upstart on the block - 'cross was around a long time beforehand!

    Rowing. Am lucky enough to own a Filippi single scull (perhaps a Colnago or Pinarello of the rowing world), so that gets me fit over the winter and is great for cross training.

    Split my riding between Road and MTB.

    Also do a bit of Scuba Diving.

    Have surfed in the past, but not much time at the moment.

    I'm planning on slowing down next year on the Road biking and becoming less competitive so might have time to get back on my surf board.

    Only do road cycling now. I used to play football, run competitevely, downhill mtb before I messed up my back. I still surf when I'm back in Wales but living in London is not exactly ideal for surfing. I remember doing it everyday, morning noon and night around the tides...ahem surf that is :wink:

    I run High School cross country and track so I actually probably spend more time doing that then riding at the moment :cry: . I want to start riding a lot more and just can running, but sense I'm actually pretty good in running I'll just have to stick with it right now.

    Cool - a few other surfers on here.

    Got this two weeks ago:

    Was getting slightly stuck in a rut with my other main board (6'2" x 18.125 thruster) so went for something a bit more "fun" - 6ft x 19" quad. Will use the other board in waves over head high. Got a needle thin 6'3" for travelling with. Very hard to catch UK waves on though!
