Wake up to vertical rain out the window. Spent ages hunting for my waterproof coat and in the end I think I'd have been better off without it as sweated soo much was soaked anyway, must get a lighter waterproof for rain in this heat. Think I'd have been better off in my sailing waterproofs!

Traffic was weird this morning being either really nice to me (I think taking pity on the nutter on a bike in the rain) or completely the opposite like the WVM who very kindly tried to shove me into the curb this morning, grrr.

Heavy rain when I got up but it stopped as I was leaving home so I thought I would escape. But it started again and I got soaked anyway. At some point I changed from a fair weather cycle commuter to one who resents it a bit if I have to drive or bus it.

Clouds looked very heavy in SE London this morning, but the light drizzle petered out and I had a dry ride in :D

There were noticeably fewer cyclists too.

    Rain ? What rain ???

Nothing here - bit overcast but no precipitation so far. But then I haven't left the house yet, no doubt as soon as I venture out the door the deluge will hit.....

Ground was wet when I set off at 8.15 - now its dry but cloudy - nice and cool - just how i like it.

I noticed very few cyclists on my way in - and quite low numbers even in the City- and extremely heavy traffic - almost solid jams between Woolwich and Central London.

It wasn;t a very enjoyable ride tbh :(

Still raining here although has slowed a bit. Didn't see another bike on my way to work and the bike shed was looking very empty when I arrived. Not many people braving the rain this morning. Hopefully be a drier ride home.

    Vertical rain, eh?

It hasn't hit London yet, but I wish it had - I got about 4 hours sleep last night due to it being too hot and sticky, plus open window = ravenous mozzies - I got bitten several times and was really aggravated by the invisible high-pitched whining hear my face. A lovely thunderstorm would have been the perfect way to drift off to cool and happy sleep.

Similar problem last night - it started so hot I couldn't sleep (couldn't even open a window as in a hotel just outside Paris with only a large patio/balcony door), and then there was the mother of thunderstorms that lasted about an hour. It still stayed ridiculously hot after the storm though. :(
Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos

I have a fan. It does a great job of keeping me cool at night.

There is definitely a sense of impending rain-doom - I just got into the office after going ealing-tower hill-kensington, and it seems to be getting more humid.

Fingers crossed for a massive thunderstorm! :D

Hey hey now we have real mans rain out in the sticks none of this city drizzle larky - plus lightning, hills and lone rider on a steel bike is a bad combo.

Makes a change, usually the other way round. As a north westerner, any tips on how best to enjoy the rain? :)
