Cream crackered and painful knee

Good morning. I've reached somewhat of a wall in my training. Everything has been going very well for the last 6 months and was starting to feel very strong especially in extra long sportive’s of 100 miles+. On hills I was getting much stronger and always felt I had gas in the tank.
But since last weekend my body has stiffened and I feel like all I want to do is sleep. It’s now been 5 days without riding and I've had two massages and been stretching but feel completely tight and tired.
In addition to this I have a very sore knee near the knee cap. It’s not sore to touch but movement appears to aggravate it. Should I take a complete rest or train a lighter rate through this period ? My next goal is the etape du tour in about 4 weeks time. Any advice would be appreciated.

Is the pain behind the kneecap? - if so, you might have irratated the cartilage behind the patella - take a week or two off to let the knee calm down then consider resuming light riding.0
