some forum advice don't SHOUT."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Surprised they're all sold out. Sat on one 2-3 weeks ago in one of the many LBS's.
Try Williams Cycles in Cheltenham.
Maybe it's the frame size you're after? ....'89 Hardrock Comp
'09 Rockhopper Comp0 -

Raleigh MaxLite FS1 (2001)0 -
to small mate need a 23'' frame0
-
How tall are you? Frames vary too - not all 23 are the same.0
-
6FT40
-
anyone ?0
-
Very unlikely you need a 23 - you may - but try some out. I'd say between 19 and 22 for most makes.
Carrera Kraken worth a shout.0 -
the carrera is £450 so abit out of my price range0
-
They are suually 350 - should be a reduction soon0
-
think am just gona get this one a like the look of the 2009 model better like carnt get hold of one. http://www.primera-bournemouth.co.uk/Te ... rodID=53030

Decathlon Rockrider 5 XC is cheaper, is 9 speed and has juicy 3 hydraulic brakes - and comes in a XL 6' 5"0
-
so does no one recon much of that hardrock then0
-
It's not particularly great value, no.0
-
How can they be selling 2010 bikes we're not even half way through 2009 yet.0
-
not to botherd about haven hydraulic brakes like. what do people make of gt ? do you think a could get a better spec gt for this price ?0
-
Usually, yes.0
-
Yeah, try and find a better specced bike at that price.
Plius if you are MoreThan customer you can get another 10% off Halfords so you could get teh GT Aggressor for £2520 -
You certainly could today as there was 20% off GT at Halfords.0
-
was only looking at the specialized coz i uster have one and my mate who races and is rite into bike told me that would be the best bike for my price range a want something that wont brake all the time something with a good strong frame the hardrock sport disk have had nothing but good reviews0
-
None of the ones mentioned on this thread will break, all have decent quality frames and some are better spec'd than others. So the Hardrock isn't "the best" in your price range. There are better spec'd, cheaper bikes available to you, just a case of tracking them down and trying a few out, Halfords has a few under one roof, very convenient.0
-
ok mate cheers ano alot of peopel have gave there views bt am still dont no witch one to go for ,0
-
Best bet is to get yourself down to Halfords and sit on a GT Aggressor and Carrera Kraken and see if you have a Decathlon store nearby. That would be a start, and a good one. And if need be wait for Halfords to bring the 20% off back on either GT or Carrera.0
-
Whats your budget, and what can of riding will you be doing?
Hardrocks are alright, but most people go for the Rockhopper for the better frame and forks. Thats why most people are recommending you other bikes.0 -
The GT 20% off is still available until midnight?0
-
just be usen it for going to work on and a littel bit of trail at the weekend nothing to harsh tho and only wanna spend about £3500
