Can I bring Wilma the pup to SCR Richmond Park on the 18th?

Was not sure on the format of event...... And did not want to wee anybody off with a barking dog trailling around!

Can't stand dogs. Hate them. That said, if I come I may only be there for an hour....

Some dogs I like, its just that round my way (well not so much Wimbledon more like Norbury, Streatham etc) there is only one breed of dog. The Bull terrier.

You can't stand dogs because there are some c*ntish ones in South London? Is this the same DDD who gets his lycra in a twist over stereotypes and generalisations? ;)

Have you clicked the link in GTVs sig? I mean come on, look at her stupid soft face.

    Yep and unashamedly so.

I'm tired of hearing dogs named ASBO, Killer, Vex, Murda and BRAP! - the sound of a gun going going off as claimed in many hip hop songs - off the leash and being called by their soverign ring wearing, knuckle dragging, tracksuit sporting owners who have the latest trainers bought from someone elses dole money, who they robbed, and their phone playing the latest tunez on lound speaker (so they can walk to their own theme tunes).

As for thier dogs. This says it all:

    ASBO the Pittbull

Every Dog in Norbury and surrounding suburbs are bull terriers. There used to be other breeds of dogs, the bull terriers have attacked them all.

oh come on now lot of that stuff is tabloid fodder, they make the news because of they are uncommon, much like most if not all scare stories that doesn't mean they don't happen just rather unlikely.

and a sheepdog is rather differnet type of dog to a pitpull.

Mate, I lived in Norbury up until last year October, up a hill and down that hill is Mitcham where ASBO lived. It's not tabloid sensationlism.

I admit GTV's dog does look cute.

not saying that there aren't mad and bad people with equally messed up dogs but these are the exeptions to the rule.

GTV, I'd have no objection to your bringing Wilma, but she'd prevent you doing any actual cycling unless you can find someone to watch her in the park. There's a lot of traffic there, and I sure wouldn't want my collie running around causing havoc or getting run over.

Oh and DDD, I can understand people disliking dogs because they're scared of them or something similar, like an allergy maybe. However, saying you don't like dogs because some of them are trained to be nasty is like me saying I don't like muslims because some of them are terrorists.

You can be a monumental pr*ck sometimes and incredibly camp for a straight man.

    Baited.

FFS Godwin how's that law coming along:

Here is my original post for clarification:

Yes in the first post I contradicted myself, when you've spent a large part of your life having to cross roads because of a dog, being chased by poorly controlled dogs, made to feel intimidated by someone and their dog it does affect your view of dogs. My instinctive stance is not to like dogs (they also make me sneeze as does cat hairs) however, I am of the clarity of mind to accept that not all dogs are bad, just the arguable majority of them around where I lived.

    Hence why I said this:

Jaysus!!! Its like you cannot have an or express an oppinion unless you've made sure it is ethically OK with the Pope, these days!

GTV, as I said I have no real objections of you bringing your dog. I'll probably manage an hour of Richmond Park or most likely won't be there any way. It's not your dog's fault.

With that kind of prize on offer I'd give Cav himself a challenge*

*no I wouldn't, I've got no desire to be shamed quite so comprehensively.

After reading LiT's bit on traffic, Wilma the terrorist will be left at home!!! Pooor thing!

She does not mix well with traffic, but will happily trot along with a bike......as long as she has her stick.....

As for DDD - I understand your concerns, some dog owner just don't give a frig and it gives all of us a bad name......

:-( back to mountain biking in the woods and a trip up Cwm Carn this weekend for her!

Probably for the best, I was considering staging a dognapping.
