Energy without carbs, protein or fat :?: Genius! Very sceptical of this and would only try it as a supplement to proper carb intake. Would take it as a like for like Red Bull (sugar free).0

yea ... its a bit of the " to good to be true " marketing i think, tiny bottle ( size of tippex bottle ) .... dont usuallyl touch these things .... pro plus gives me the jitters ....!
looking for a use for a box of 12......
wonder if i can stick them in my cars fuel tank and clean the diesel injectors with them0 -
"Voltz 5 hour energy shot" does not need to be refrigerated and contains a low amount of calories
The amount of sodium is also lower than a typical carbonated drink
It has 2g of a secret "energy blend". It also contains 50mg of caffeine and B vitamins
In summary utterly useless for cycling or any other kind of high energy activity
The ideal drink for cycling could be
a) 40g / carbohydrate 10g protein per litre
or
b) high in pottasium/ sodium / magnesium/ electroltyes, small amoun of carbs
or some combination of a)& b) Caffeine and B vitamins are helpful but the main thing is hydration+elelectolyes and/or some carbohydrate replacement
Voltz might be good if you are on a diet and watching TV0 -
I thought energy was measured in calories - so what use is an energy drink that is low in calories??? I want MORE calories.
If I was looking for something like this, I'd have an espresso. mmmm0 -
Yeah exactly, what a load of rubbish.
Seems to have all the ergogenic benefits of a vitamin B tablet and about half a cup of tea.
Remember, if anything like this actually worked, it would very quickly get banned, like for example ephedrine, speed etc.0 -

a very large B tablet at that if you look at the RDA in it !
My girlfriends brother gave me a case of this stuff out of good will and enthusiasm ...probably thinking it was rocket fuel ...
no doubt they're drinking it by the bucket full at the gym he goes to ..
I'll stick to a good coffee and a bit of cake !0 -
Yep, your best bet is to go and sell the stuff to those gym users, and spend the money and some decent cake and espesso beans. That's proper cycling fuel!0

Polite verdict: gimmick
Objective verdict: just another caffeine drink
Actual verdict: more marketing b*ll*cks*
Have a cup of tea, coffee, couple of cans of cola, a Red Bull, ProPlus or analysis-grade powdered caffeine for exactly the same effect - a barely perceptible energy boost followed by feeling slightly worn out.

I use this product regulary with great success, i found this information on what's in the formulation which is very different to just pro plus or an energy drink! So what’s in a bottle of Voltz?
B6 - Aids the conversion of carbohydrates into energy, increases the level of oxygen in the blood as well as aiding in the production of red blood cells. It also has a function in helping the nervous system. Deficiency of this important Vitamin is linked to depression and other mental disorders.
___________________________________________________________________________
B12 - Promotes energy metabolism, immune and nerve function. Like B6 it also has a role in the development of red blood cells.
___________________________________________________________________________
B3 (Niacin) - Niacin is a regulator of blood sugars. It helps in energy production by aiding in the breakdown of carbohydrates, protein, fats and starches for sustainable energy. Niacin also opens the blood capillaries and in doing so takes more blood, nutrients and oxygen to the extremities and the skin, thereby aiding circulation.
___________________________________________________________________________
B9 (Folic Acid) - Is critical to cellular division and DNA synthesis. Like B6 and B12 it has a synergistic role in red blood cell formation.
___________________________________________________________________________
Citicoline - Interest is growing in Citicoline, a form of the B Vitamin Choline. Citicoline protects brain cells in two critical ways. It helps to restore membrane components called Phospholidpids and counteracts the effects of free radical damage to the membrane. Citicoline “protects” the brain and in doing so helps to preserve memory function and thinking ability.
___________________________________________________________________________
L Tyrosine / L Phenylalanine - These two amino acids are precursors of several neurotransmitters including – L Dopa, Dopamine, Norepinephine and Epinephine. Consequently these amino acids have been shown to elevate the mood, improve memory and boost mental alertness.
___________________________________________________________________________
Taurine - Taurine is an amino acid that helps to regulate the heartbeat, maintain cell membrane stability and prevent brain cell over-activity. We use more Taurine when our body is carrying out physical activity or mental stress; if the body is lacking this nutrient the body will not be able to form at its peak.
___________________________________________________________________________
Malic Acid - Malicacid is primary in the complex process of deriving ATP from food (ATP is the energy that runs the body).
___________________________________________________________________________
Glucuronolactone - Glucuronolactone is metabolised in the human liver from glucose. It helps the body to fight fatigue and provides a sense of well-being.
___________________________________________________________________________
N Acetyl (NAC) - It is a very powerful antioxidant that helps to “mop up” free radicals that are produced by physical activity and in doing so NAC helps to protect the body from harmful cellular oxidation damage.
___________________________________________________________________________
Glutamine - Glutamine, an amino acid, is converted to glucose when more glucose is required by the body as an energy source. It also assists in protein metabolism and can speed recovery after exercise.
___________________________________________________________________________
COQ10 - A powerful antioxidant and free radical scavenger, it acts as a stabiliser for this complex formulation. It is also an ingredient of the electron transport chain and helps generate energy in the form of ATP (Adenosine tri-phosphate).0 -
Suenos.....but what do you use it for?0
-
Could it be that Suenos is Rob Arnold?0
-
It's a fact, on a long bike ride you'd struggle without some propor food, or maybe some propor energy bars or something, and that aint gonna help it's the carbs that help.0
