I am riding tonight - the first time since I scared myself stupid at Brechfa and my first ride in over a month

I'm all for positive thinking blah blah blah, but I can't help thinking that I am going to Little Miss Slow for the night  And probably Little Miss Feeble too....

Any inspiring thoughts, apart from 'Get a bloody grip woman'?

  • I reckon you'll feel better once you've got out there - it doesn't matter if you're slow and/or feeble. Next time, you'll be better.

h, and think of me, stuck on a train until 7.30pm on my way home... I would give ANYTHING to have time on my bike tonight!

    Good luck :D

My Mantra - Its better to regret something you have done, then something you haven't

If your slow push harder only if you feel comfortable, and if you dont, then why worry, you got back up on the bike, and thats a big first step. 8)

Report back how it goes yup??

    hehehehee :D team-building and motivating :x

We used to have to do exercises at work before the shift started. 30 blokes in overalls doing lunges and squat-thrusts lol. Luckily we haven't done them for ages...

Could be worse tho. At the plants in Japan thousands of them do exercises in the yard to music lol

Sorry, realised my above post was totally off-topic

sarah75, Im the biggest f*nny going on a bike, lol, so I always just tell myself "I want to do this for me!". I am constantly surprising myself with what I can go down, and at what speed 8)

I'm not a scaredy-cat or anything, just have very little self-confidence.

If I fall off, I just get back on and think "well atleast that didnt hurt as much as I thought it would"

    Hope all went well!

Yep, last night was fab! No offs (although to be honest it wasn't that technical) so all good :D

I am officially very unfit though - nothing new there I guess!!!

I also tried out my new girlie Camelbak for the first time and MY GOD, it makes a difference! I can actually breathe now and not have my boobs squashed

    Yep, twas good :D

Although am now sat at my desk with my cup of coffee trying to pick bits of hawthorn out of my hands (why do the thorns always do stright down so you can't get to them?) :? I always manage to dodge around some of them but seem to ride through at least one hawthorn bush per ride. Ouch

    Ha ha, true!

The best was when I smacked my mouth into my handlebars last year and has massive split lip with a purple and bruised chin. Unfortunately it was day before Chris and I were out to dinner for family reunion, and just after he had broken his arm.... We looked like something off a Jeremy Kyle show

I react very badly to bug bites and at another forum summer gathering, I was bitten to bejeezus in the night on my face. Over a period of a week or so, it scabbed up into a very nasty mess. It coincided with the very nasty bust up of a relationship that the whole office new about.

My boss took me aside to ask, in short, if my ex was beating me up

It does, but the masochist in me loves that battered and bruised feeling. It's like the old saying, at least you know you're alive!
