Gelatin

Has anyone heard of gelatin helping to recover from joint injury? I have just completed a 200 mile charity bike ride over 2 days and my right knee is swollen and incredibly painful. I am taking anti inflamatorys and have it supported. Have never suffered from knee pain in the past (not even a twinge) Someone has suggested that gelatin might help the recovery. Is this nonsense or credible science?
Thanks

Nonsense
Use R.I.C.E.
R--rest
I ---ice. Apply for a few minutes at a time, then warm up and apply again. Improves blood flow which aids healing
C--compression..ie using support bandages
E--Elevation...raise your knee, makes less fluid settle there0 -
Thanks for that, I did not think I had heard of it before but was worth an ask.
Am following the RICE advice and that seems to be working. Swelling is down anyway.
