Turbo Dust

I am a bit of a turbo trainer novice, having only recently borrowed one from a mate, which I am currently using, so sorry if this sounds like an obvious question: I figured there would be wear and tear on the rear wheel, but there seems to be quite a bit of rubber dust on the roller after only 5 or 6 rides.
Is that normal or am I doing something wrong?

Normal. You can get a harder rubber turbo tyre if you'll only use it on the turbo.

That's a misleading title. I though this thread was about Tom Boonen for a minute :)
