Nice bike, but you can get better for the same or less, have a look at the Carrera Fury, Focus Black Forest, and some of the Genesis bikes for startersOrange 2010 P7 - Custom Build - My New Bikey Poos

Im like this with everything. I want to try and get exactly the right thing for me, ending up wasting loads of time in the process. I guess its best to just bite the bullet and get one?0 -

I think im going to go for the Marin Palisades Trail. It's listed at £749 but with my friends discount i can get it for £562.
That and the fact that i really love the look of it. I'll try and get myself up there either this weekend or next.0 -
yikes i spent about £330 on my trek 3900 hardtail and now feel it is inferior when folk say the benchmark for a good hardtail is £500.
Oh well, i am a novice and you live and learn as they say!!!!!!!!!2009 Trek 3900 disc https://www.flickr.com/photos/125245570 ... 613755884/

I wouldn't worry about it. The Norwegian MTB magazine Terrengsykkel did a test of "budget" hardtails in their last issue. Base price for all models was £1500. Silly silly magazine people living in cloud cuckoo land.0
