I wasn't doubting the size of Man U's traditional support, just pointing out that the Johnny-come-lately fans number more than "a few".

I know what you're trying to say, and yes there are many. But averaging 50,000 during the
periods I previously mentioned isn't bad. How many teams even now can attract that sort
    of crowd?

Why do you say that the talk of debt is rubbish? Man U didn't have the same amount of debt last summer - they had less:

And this rise on the back of a PL/CL double.

Putting aside rivalries, I've got no desire to see Man U sink under debt that was accrued by someone buying them against the wishes of the fans, but let's be realistic here - 700 million pounds is a hell of a lot of money for a club with a turnover of about £250m and operating profits of £66m in a highly successful year.

    Your point being?

Just looking at a list of wealthiest football clubs doesn't really tell you much about their long time financial health. I'm sure that a few years ago Leeds would have been in the top 10.

Utd's debt is gigantic and mounting. No way around that one.

    Oh such a shame!!
And excuse me but Nottingham Forest won the European Cup (Oh sorry Champions Legue) twice in successive years and that was in the days of when you lost a cup game you were out!! none of this two legs away goal sh1t!!

I think you'll find the away goals counting double (in the event of a draw) did apply and it was over two legs, so you could actually lose a game, but still win the match. where things were different was unless you were the holders of the trophy you had to win your nations league championship to qualify. None of this finishing fourth rubbish.

Ha ha not only did Barca cum on united they shat on them from a great height. Theres no excuses; the better team won, Messi and iniesta were class. Fergies face was a picture. Someone should have told him Rome is Liverpools city and always will be. Man U were gifted the league too when benitez refused to use keane because of a backstage squabble. Now if Everton can tonk the chelski it'll not have such a bad season after all.

momentarily from the herd and thinks for himself.
  • "Rome is Liverpools city and always will be"........that'll be the reason for all those stabbings then. Great that a successful season for Liverpool fans is a lack of success for their biggest rivals eh?
