And Tom Boonen did something that broke the law in every developed country on the planet. It says a lot about the UCI that they continue to put up with drug addicts like this. Every major American league would have banned him for the year and sent him to rehab before he was welcome back, and this coke head got busted twice. How is cocaine not on the list of banned substances anyway.

I'm really happy the UCi doesn't go the way of over-commercialised major American League professional sports where brand image is everything. Sports organisations should rule about all that has to do with competition, and affecting 'the image of the sport' or 'setting a bad example for kids' should not be part of it. Being a 'cokehead' out of competition, just like say dangerous driving offence, is a matter for civil courts, not sports organisations.

Throw this guy out. A depressed guy gets thrown out for an herbal anti-depressant and this coke head clown will get to continue to do what he does. The UCI needs to screw their heads on straight.

The difference is TH did something which is against the rules.

    TB didn't.

ahhh the Westminster MP expenses defence still going strong i see :-)
Gasping - but somehow still alive !

It is if it gives the sports organization a bad name, which a top rider in the sport does. Coke is a little more image damaging than driving offenses. It is the job of the UCI to protect cycling's image through and through, which is why they are going so hard after all the dopers.

    Ah I love Boonen.

He's not cheating so I can't see the problem. He gives good perceptive soundbites, that arn't necesserily the usual bland shite, he's always happy for interviews etc and he gives a bit of glamour to it all.

It also means my girlfriend is more likely to put up with the Tour being on...
Note: the above post is an opinion and not fact. It might be a lie.
