Sean doesn't have a "birthday", any more than lightning or granite has a "birthday". For his party tonight he's going bowling, using Chuck Norris' hollowed-out head for a ball.

The way he rode always made me think of a gorilla on a bike. Able to lay down the power
    like no one else.

He's not the only pro cyclist born on 21 May.

    Cavendish is 24 today.

You have to be a really good climber, otherwise it would be majorly difficult to keep your position in the general classement.

Happy Birthday. He is my favourite commentator. A bit like Brian Moore. He knows what he's talking about and is no nonsense.

It's a nice sunny day and the Giro is on telly with Harmon and Kelly at the helm. Could it get any better?

Well, I'm at work, but apart from that - no.

He's not told Harmon that Ardila needs 'a good fooking drilling' yet this year has he? Maybe he's saving that one for later.

Kelly is fine, Harmon is simply opionated and elitist.

"...he's shaved his beard off, which is good to see." WHY?

Oh and " ... (I paraphrase) if you're too poor to go and climb mountains in France or Spain or Sierra Nevada, don't bother..."

    And that's just today.

Sort of, "we don't want just anyone riding a bike, do we chaps?"

He had a very good point, there are no long climbs in the UK, he did talk about the steep climbs you do get, but there's nothing long here, it's a simple fact. He was simply saying you can't experience the climbs of the grand tour stage races in the UK. It's true, you can't.

Why when listening to a commentary on a SPORTING EVENT would I want to know his views on facial appearance? I stand by opionated.

And the person who asked about hills in THE UK stated that a student. They can't all afford to go abroard. I also stand by elitist.

Good for you, I admire someone who sticks to an opinion even when it's been shot down.

The guy has to commentate for hours - you're bound to get a bit of opinion at some point when there's not much going on.

David Harmon and Sean Kelly what a great team they are Sean's knowledge of what goes on in the peleton tactics ect are second to none and i like how David Harmon explains things for us mere mortals to understand re speeds climbs ect a brilliant team and long may they continue comentating on the grand tours i for one look forward to my week off work every July to tune in to Eurosport to watch the mountain stages live all day with the two lads commentary superb.

"He's on the rivit as they say in cycling terms" is my personal favorite.

    god bless him

if that is Sean's legs reminds me of Ben Johnson in 1988
