PM me your email address and I'll forward you the joining details (button at the top right of this post with PM on it  ). Next dig day is on Sunday from 10:00 to 2:00.

It's way from finished, just getting started really, Martin, the main FC man, has loads of plans if more funding can be sourced, in the meantime the volunteers are continuing to add 50m of trail or so a fortnight. More the merrier really, would love to see some new faces digging.

    Hi,

Please can someone send me the .gpx file for the red route?
Will be doing the Gisburn Dirty Dozen in June and going to try and get up there and give it a go beforehand!

    Many thanks :)
  • I'm also doing Dirty dozen, I can't see it being around the red route, I'm sure there will be a few bits of it... but maybe someone can help us on that. As for the red route, reading this thread it would appear that it is fairly well marked, I managed to get around the old red route last year with not too many probs. Looking forward to having another weekend up there soon, hopefully before DD.

Torf it is pretty well marked now, the signs were finally put in a month or so ago.

Tell you what though Gisburn is getting worn out pretty damn fast in places. Up there for the first time since September and it was really bad in places and the helter skelter thingy was shut for repairs. Bit too popular!

    I still got lost :(

Is it open fully yet? i can't be arsed driving to wales/north lakes every weekend when there is such a good trail on my doorstep!

Not yet, gully still closed. They`ve patched up some of the worst bits of erosion but it`s still quite bad in places. It`s all rideable though and adds to the challenge.

It's all pretty OK at the moment with it being so dry.

  • All open yet?

    Off there this weekend hopefully!

Where is it closed from/where is the bypass?

Think it's still closed (unless Martin has finished on his own since he got back). The top of the big berms is where it's shut from, to the bottom by the ruined buildings. If you carry on on the fireroad past the start further down on the left is another piece of singletrack which takes you down to the ruined buildings. I think it's signed. The descent isn't in the same league as the berms but can be pretty fast with a small berm half way down.

We're up there digging on Sunday, if you're there then pop in and say hello.

Have you tried Cragg Quarry yet? I reckon you'd love that. If you fancy a play there let me know.
