I suffer from numbness in my left toes when I'm riding. It comes on after about 10 miles and gets worse. It goes immediately I stop riding. I have had custom footbeds made and wedges put under the cleats at Cyclefit (SICI) and bought different shoes but nothing has worked. Has anybody had /got a similar problems and know of a cure?

I have similar problems. I find streching my hamstring well before I ride makes it come on a bit slower. I find I gets much worse when I put an effort in... Can't help you with a solution though.

Sorry if this sounds obvious but I had this problem a while back. Solved it by only using one notch on the ratchet of my shoes and leaving the velcro completely slack. I know - -obvious answer but it works a treat for me even on three hour plus rides.

I tried as it said to move my cleats a couple of mm to the rear and it worked pretty good. Plus also as said above, i also only have my shoes on the loosest ratchet and the velcro straps really loose. I find my foot moves a tiny bit but it is a whole lot more comfortable.
Do you have any Therapeutic Use Exemptions?
    No. Never have.
    Never? What about the cortisone?
Well, obviously there was the cortisone

I had, and sometimes still get the same, at first it was all the time and I found changing my socks and cleat position and loosening my straps helped no end, I still get numb toes at times but I tend to lift my foot in the shoe a bit on the downhills, that solves the problem.

Brilliant !!! I'v been getting numb toes after about 8 miles since I came back to cycling a year ago, I did my shoes up slightly looser than normal ( velcro, on Specialised mtb shoes I'm afraid ) just got in after 38 mls, no numbness at all. So simple why didn't it occur to me ???
