  • Think it was from a company called Sunset MTB, but loads of places will have it in when the new one comes out.

  • Ok so earlier on I mentioned that before I got it I was worried about the Crush's climbing ability because it might weigh a fair bit. Just bought some semi-slicks for the old Diamondback's commuting duty and took the opportunity to weigh the pair of them:

Diamondback M40 2005, 15" frame, 80mm travel forks, cable v-brakes, 27 speed (now 3 speed due to a knackered shifter), stock except for cheap nasty semi-slick tyres and flat pedals that came with the Orange:

...............15kg (33lb!!!!!1111one11!!!!!!!!!!!!) I actually thought it was quite light but back when I were a lad everything was made of hi-tensile steel so everything feels light to me.

Orange Crush 2009, 17" frame, 140mm travel forks, hydraulic discs, 18 speed, stock except for V8 pedals:

    ...............13kg (28.5lb)

Now the bathroom scales I was using probably aren't that accurate so the absolute weights may be a bit off, but there's no denying that's a fair bit of weight saving between the two! Just shows the difference between spending £250 and spending £1050!

Nice! my friend has the 08 version, which is black and white, but still looks good. on the vanillas, which dial is preload, and which is rebound, as he was having trouble setting it up?
