I've waited a long time to be able to post in here but I finally got my finances half in order and got round to replacing my knackered old Diamondback M40 with something nice and shiny.
Behold, the Orange Crush.......
Me very excited stood next to what could just be a big brown carton of Orange juice, which would've also been quite cool.....
Kitchen isn't really the right shape for taking bike photos but here's the obligatory pic......
Next door's cat came for a look at what was going on......
And finally, a couple of pics outside. Take a good look because it will never be this clean again!

i slmost bought one of these frames before i got my marin susser. they look very nice. looks an agressive frame. sweet0

It's a 17". I think it looks smaller than that because the front end is so high up compared to my last bike!
Will have to wait a few days for a proper ride unfortunately, had football practise tonight and got our first league game tomorrow. Fingers crossed my legs aren't shot by Thursday!"The problem was, I was still using my eyes even though I had them shut"

Looks a bit low for a 17" frame, but nevermind.
Have a nice flight.0 -

Does it come in another colour?Smarter than the average bear.0

It doesn't come in any colour any more. Orange have sold out of )(s and won't have any more until the 2010 model is released in September(ish). That will probably be a different colour!0

Sweet ride. Are they the Fox Vanilla 32's? (Can't be arsed to look it up on the web )Boo-yah mofo

Well, the results are in. I had football tonight after work so was a bit shattered but took it for a quick installation lap to get the controls/seat etc. set up in the right place. It is amazing. Hopefully my legs won't be quite so jelly like tomorrow and I'll be able to get a proper ride in.
Xtreem
Yeah like I said it looks low but it's just the geometry. Got 140mm travel so the front end is pretty high, making the back end look artificially low.

Nope standard Stroker Trails. I've gone from having fairly poorly set up v-brakes on wonky rims to mad hydraulic discs and it's made such a difference!

As Mancunianfightingcat said there's no colours at all! You may be able to find the odd one or two left if you're lucky but they're all orange. Last years were all blue and white and the year before I think they were all grey. So the likelihood is next year you'll only have one choice again.

Yup, Vanilla 32 R."The problem was, I was still using my eyes even though I had them shut"

Enjoy your first proper ride matey! Looks a good'un. And if you've come from V's, take it steady with the front brake. Otherwise, you'll find out about the ejector seat you bike has installed (because it does if your previous brakes were pants!!)

Yep. Agree with that - doesn't get much better than an orange orange!
Love the slope on that top tube.
Great bikes all round and yours is no exception.0 -
Sweet bike dude, i was after one of these but as already mentioned orange have sold out0

Ive said it before and I'll say it again, the Crush is nice. I want to take one to my local trails and thrash it.....0

Gorgeous looking bike mate 8)
How do you find the ADvantages? I've got a pair, but find them quite hard going, don't roll well at all, decent grip on the DH though.0 -

Time will tell I guess, but my old bike had huge 2.35 WTB Prowler XTs and they're renowned for taking eons to roll up to speed. From the short ride I've had so far they feel pretty quick to me. Will maybe stick the Prowlers on for a ride and see what the difference is."The problem was, I was still using my eyes even though I had them shut"

I love it when people get excited about their bike.
Really digging the fox forks and the big grin!
Cracking bike by the way and lovely colour too. Hope it rides as good as it looks.0 -
Ok so here's the report:
Just got back from my first proper ride. Can't really use it to full potential on my local trails so stuck it in the car and headed up to Danbury for something a bit more hardcore. There are two things that worried me a bit about the Crush when I chose it:
1. Will be too heavy/wrong shape for climbing.
2. Will make me ride like a loon and get me killed.
Well, despite the design leaning more towards downhills than climbs it still manages to climb better than my old bike. It just feels very responsive, possible the cranks are a lot stiffer and it makes it feel like the pedals are attached directly to the wheels so stamping on the pedals up steep climbs is much easier than before.
As for getting me killed, it's really inspiring me to hit everything much faster than before, but luckily it's allowing me to get away with a lot more as well! So hopefully I'm riding faster and will still stay in one piece.
One thing I need to get used to is the forks. I hit a few smallish jumps and on one of the landings they compressed so much I nearly went over the bars! Expect it'll take me a few more rides to really get the hang of how it handles.
Overall I'm really pleased and once I've got used to it there'll be a lot more fun to be had! Would recommend one to anyone except apparently they've all sold out so you'll have to wait til next year"The problem was, I was still using my eyes even though I had them shut"

Can't be far off that but think really it was my weight distribution was a bit iffy when I landed."The problem was, I was still using my eyes even though I had them shut"

are they coil or air, do they have adjustable compression adjust?0
-
They are coil and i think low speed compression my friend has one.0
-
Coil with adjustable preload and rebound.
Imagine I'll be spending the next couple of weeks playing about with the setup, it's just I like playing with things straight out the box so haven't given it too much thought so far!"The problem was, I was still using my eyes even though I had them shut"
