Given how much of a know-all you've been, its ironic that you didn't appreciate the irony, even when pointed out to you.
What exactly WERE you doing when you were pulled over by the fuzz? It tends to be too much effort to pull someone up for absolutely no reason, so attempting to persuade me that you were doing nothing and they pulled over simply because you were wearing headphones isn't going to be very convincing.
Did your mum give you hell for it?0 -
That`s an awful lot of irony.
I can honestly tell you that he had absolutely no reason to stop me.In fact he didn`t pull me over he followed me into work so I was stopping anyway {there was a cop shop very near}and as I parked he collared me and told me what I told you.No ticket just a bollocking.
I`m a big boy,my mum`s not interested,she doesn`t do traffic anyway.Smarter than the average bear.0 -
Why didn't you ask your mom about the earphones after they pulled you over? Then you'd know that it wasn't illegal and could spend your time answering the question of the thread instead of just telling people they're idiots, stupid or tossers. More irony.0

"Mom" was probably busy baking a pie !Smarter than the average bear.0

Thats not ironic. Bit wierd though.0

I think I know why you were pulled over - were you driving mom's car? A kid in a nice car, listening to an ipod. It probably looked like you'd hotwired it. I love a mystery.0 -
For the last time it was just the headphones and it was before i-pods were even invented.I was listening to the radio on headphones because the car radio was broken and I was driving a shitty old ford.He didn`t even ask me for the reg number.
I thought they only said "mom" in America.Smarter than the average bear.0 -

Never used to listen to music before, but now 1 ear for listening to the environment, one for listening to music0
-
I consistently got on my high horse about this after being nearly wiped out whilst listening to my walkman (in the era of cassettes!!!)
but I returned to it a couple of months ago after commuting for 4 years with only the voices in my head and the hum of traffic
just the left ear at first, but I quickly moved to both ears and have never looked back
I only listen to radio 5 so the traffic isn't totally drowned out by music. I got myself a cheap radio and some decent sony buds (the ones with the rubbery fittings to get a decent sound rather than cheapo ones with plastic or foam)
Sony SRF-M97 AM/FM Radio £35 off ebay from some bloke in H/Kong

I have the same radio. Wish I could get TMS on it though.0

I have one of these sony ones:
FM, pretty good tuner, stores presets, auto-changes frequency once you've got the RDS, consistent throughout London, also 1GB mp3 player and dictaphone. God knows why it has a dictaphone, but it's good.0 -

I was looking at that model myself. I too wish long wave was available.
Well, this wouldn't even be an issue if DAB would just work consistantly.0 -
A little bigger, but the Roberts R9988 Radio appears to have everything0

Manufacturer's website
and a shop which sells them
My b/f gave me a pair of these at the weekend (he would rather I didn't listen to music at all, frankly, but since I was insistant, he thought this would lessen the danger) and though the installation was a bit of a faff, they seem good. Less wind noise, more awareness of traffic, with only slightly tinnier music as a downside.0 -

Hmm. For about £8, it seems worth a punt. I can barely hear anything on the sporty Sennheiser things I'm using at the moment. Had to listen to the News Quiz again at lunchtime as I'd missed most of it. (Plus the Sennheisers are a particularly lurid shade of green - yuk.)Never be tempted to race against a Barclays Cycle Hire bike. If you do, there are only two outcomes. Of these, by far the better is that you now have the scalp of a Boris Bike.0 -
Ooooooooh is the newsquiz podcast back?0
