Polar CAD200 - HRM not working

...so I changed the battery in the strap (I know this is a bit naughty!!) and it did not make any difference. Whether the strap is on my chest or in the house the compouter is always reading about 14 bpm.

Any ideas, oh wise ones???

    Did you wash your strap ie follow the care instructions that came with it?

    The sweat will corrode the electrodes and either the strap will give false readings or give up completely once the corrision is too bad.

    If that's the problem then it's already too late.

    Send it to Polar they will soon tell you what's wrong. 3-5 day turnaround and much quicker than spending days trying to figure it out yourself.
