Maybe I'll get some ergonomic cycling socks...0

What exactly were they thinking of when they decided on the style of the men's cycling shirt? The ladies one looks like its been made out of a shower curtain.

I'm tempted to get one of those shirts just because I can't look at it without laughing - even on the darkest days I'll be able to whip it out and there'll be a smile on my face in no time. I particularly like how the model is acting like he looks really cool wearingit.0

Gah!
Blagged a lift into town at lunchtime.
Wanted to have a look at the saddle bags.
Except the Aldi in town is actually a Lidl...
Oh well. M&S Sandwich made a nice change from the canteen.0 -

I don't get on with the clamp clicky thing it uses to attach to the underneath of the saddle, so you're welcome to it if you want? PM me, it's got some tools and knicknacks in it too.0 -
Just back from a raid on Aldi. I restocked my glove drawer, picked up a nice emergency windproof smock and bought 2 waterbottles.
The bottle cages are excellent, esp for that pesky third waterbottle location underneath the down-tube. The bottles themselves have a wide tolerance regarding size. Some bottle tops dont fit some bottles. If you are getting one, have a play with it in the shop.0 -
I got
2 pairs of socks
I pair of sunglasses
and one of the padded underwear which are excellent and I’ll be going back tomorrow for another 3 pair.
I also got a "Camping Cutlery" ..... spoon, fork etc in a pouch

Thanks - that's really generous. PM'd0 -
Bought a load of stuff there yesterday. The GF was really narked off that the womens gear was only in purple and tried to make me get that disgustingly designed jersey to make it fair.FCN 7

Between Lidl and Aldi, I'm going to be wearing cheapo German supermarket stuff from head to foot, apart from a pair of Persol sunglasses that cost more than everything else put together!
The jackets seem good this year, and fit me perfectly so I can see myself using it into the winter, and I like the very lightweight waterproof. I really didn't like the padded undercrackers though. They went straight into the bin, so I'm glad I got a couple of pairs of shorts.
The main problem is that there s only one or two of any size of any design. I pretty much cleaned out the Catford Aldi of Medium jerseys, apart from the vileness that was in the catalogue.Bike/Train commuter: Brompton S2L - "Machete"

why is everyone bitching about the men's top?
I love it, I bought one and, it seems I'll be the only person in the world wearing it.
what's with the glove sizes though? i don't think I'm a freaky-handed weirdo, but the XL were too small, and there were no XXL in the pile. I redecorated the store nicely with gloves as I rummaged away trying to find some though!0 -

I bought a few pairs of socks, another pair of glasses, lightweight foldaway jacket, and a couple of bottles. I looked at the hand pump aswell for £4 but decided against as I fancy a new Lezyne road drive with flexi hose attachment.
Overall, cheap prices for reasonably good gear, sizes are very inconsistant, so try first.0 -

Kitted my wife out with the lilac stuff - top, jacket, mitts, shorts - £30 or so ? Ridiculously good.
Campag are selling mitts at £70 now.....0 -
I bagged to pairs of glasses (I know I break at least 1 pair!!) for £7, you can't go wrong at that price.
It allowed me to buy the amazing Red and White Suede Puma SK8 shoes for the same price has the specs I was looking at getting on Wiggle.
Thanks for the heads up :-)Life moves pretty fast, if you don't stop and look around you could miss it.0 -
My local had no socks, which since discovering Aldi socks about a year or so ago, is pretty much all the socks I wear.
I tried a jacket on but wasn't impressed.
it's all nowt fancy, but it works, and in most cases works well.0 -
Got myself the Sports glasses, Saddle bag, computer and gloves.
Total was less than £15, billy bargain if you ask me! Seems good quality too although I havent set up the computer yet. There seems to be ALOT of instructions on the card that comes with it!! :shock:0 -
I got 2 jerseys, a softshell, 2 pairs of shorts, 1 pair of gloves, and an ultralight jacket for £60, bonzer!
The shorts are the only weak point so far, the leg grippers are too big so they look a bit baggy round the knees and the pad is a bit far back. Haven't had chance to do any miles in them yet so far but the pad feels decent enough. The arms on the softshell are a bit tight, but I put that down to my manly drummers arms 8)

Hmm. I think this batch of shorts are the best yet. I know what you mean about the leg grippers, but I'd rather have them slightly on the loose side than cutting into the skin. Also allows for muscular thighs!
But the best bit is the pad. They've obviously been steadily improving these and the side stitching is perfectly smooth meaning no chafing, and the design and material mean they fit perfectly to the contours, for me anyway.
I also like the fabric - not too shiny and softer against the skin. I bought 3 pairs for far less than a single pair of a named brand would cost, and superior to many IMO.

I agree the pad feels really good, like i say I haven't had chance to go for a proper ride in them yet, it just feels like it's a bit further back than my orbea bibs, I'm just worried i'm going to be using my nads for padding when i'm on the drops

I found the shorts were rather loose around the knees too. Wondered if I should go back for a size smaller - but meh... They might be useful for something, or maybe I could attack them with my sewing machine, as the rest of the short feels fine...
Got some gloves, glasses, and that tiny wee pack-a-mac too. A bit small for me sround the hips but it was all they had left.
Could have done with the glasses today, flies and grit in the wind, ugh - will remember tomorrow, even if they do look like science goggles with clear/yellow lenses on...0 -

I bought a pair of shorts and the leg bottoms were loose so I changed them for the next size. They were just as baggy, but the rest of the shorts were too tight, so I changed them back again the next day. :P0
