Heheh, the geek shall inherit the Earth. Like many geeks, my naming policy is for my computers/routers rather than my bikes. Currently, my home has residents named Enterprise, Liberator, TARDIS, Voyager and, um, Firefly. OK, that last one doesn't really fit (should be Serenity, really), but I like the name. My laptop is named Orac. Again, it doesn't fit the theme of ship names, but...

I suppose if I were to name my bikes, I'd call the RockHopper "Rocky". That might set a theme of its own, leading me to choose a boxer's name or nickname for my other bike. That being the case, it'd probably be Ali. The bike is red, with Coca-Cola stickers on it. Coca-Cola is commonly shortened to Coke. Cocaine is a drug, as is dope. Ali coined the terms rope-a-dope, so there we go.

Alternatively, I suppose I could go down the Rockhopper penguin route. I'm not quite sure where that might lead though...

When a bike has "Bob Jackson" written on it it's sort of got a name by default.

Ah, but were you to buy another Bob Jackson, then what?

Commuter is "the iron horse", old road bike is "Bluey", no name for the new one yet - I think you need to develop an emotional attachment first and we've only done a few hundred miles together so far.

The commuter is Frodo - an utterly dependable, unglamorous friend that will never let you down

The Mad one is Legolas - Light on it's feet, lively as hell, and tougher than it's appearance would suggest.

I've never revealed this information before, but now it's in the public domain I can embrace my inner geek
Lit has a gollum, so, just out of interest, what would warrant a Gimli? Or a Boromir?

Boromir would have to go through a load of crashes, and survive until one final one and it totally fell into bits. Also it will have to keep pulling towards the darker path.
Except for the crashes I like the sound of that bike. hehe
    "This area left purposefully blank"
Sign hung on my head everyday till noon.

As i'm a huge fan of the Doctor, and my flatmate recently decorated her with some Dr Who stickers! she is now proudly called....

    Martha....as she's my black companion :)

My next bike (hopefully!) the Lapierre Spicy 514 will be called Rose....and she will be special...the love of my life (no pressure)

Originally I thought I'd call mine Evita (Spesh Vita Sport) but have since decided that despite its girl-geometry, it's a boy.

And I can only ever think of 'Dave' as a random bloke's name.

Maybe I should go for a very posh name, seeing as my other ride is a Henry...

Focus Cross Disc is yellow and black, therefore 'Bumblebee', and the Litespeed is 'Roadrunner'. I'm 'that middle-aged DT teacher wearing lycra' as far as my school pupils are concerned...

My MTB has aquired the name "Gertie", and it's a bit of a long story. Basically she's not elegant and bits keep falling off.

I'm resisting the urge to call the mighty Condor Agio, my road bike, "Isabella". Again, a long story...
