+1 for Devo. Dig my vinyl out, put on 'Duty Now for the Future' and wack the volume up on 'Clockout/Timing X'.
To err is human, but to make a real balls up takes a super computer.

    Anything that aint classical really.

You just haven't heard anything properly. You should hear some Borodin, Mahler or Prokofiev or whatever on my hifi.

    Beautiful!

I dont like classical, my Logitech Z5500 is good enough, 10" sub for bass, ok the sattelites are abit small but it does the job.

I'm listning to Marvin Gaye and Isaac Hayes aswell as Electric Light Orchestra at the moment now, brilliant music, bet you would not expect a 19yr old to be listning to that sort of stuff

In France, they used to refer to AC/DC as "Assez Decu", which means "rather dissappointed". 8)

The Stranglers. I have followed them since 77 and always find myslef drifting back listening to their music and going to the odd gig when they are in London!
  • "Mosquito" by The Necks
    Stereolab's "Dots & Loops" album
"Welcome" & "Borboletta" & other early-70s albums by Santana
"El Sonido Nuevo" album by Cal Tjader
    "ESP" album by Miles Davis

Seem to be the stuff that gets played when the weather's nice, bright & sunny.

Ah, I was waiting for you sleazy! I'm happy to be 29, but sometimes I wish I could have been a young adult in 77 so I could go and see bands like the Stranglers when it was all just kicking off.

The Stranglers are indeed a great band....................in fact, one of the best from that period and still going strong. I see them last year in London, it was a packed house on both nights!

I saw them just after Paul Roberts had left, they were missing his vocals, he had a lot of abuse when he took over from Hugh, JJ for me isn't upto the job, others will argue of course.

Interesting comments. Paul Roberts was never a Strangler, in my mind. How do you replace Hugh Cornwell's vocals............you can't. However, the balance is now right. Baz Warne is doing a sterling job for the band with JJ singing more. Got to say, I like JJ, he adds to the band. Also, JJ is a superb bass player.

Burial and Four Tet are releasing a 12" on Monday (Moth / Wolf Cub)

The A side, Moth is the best thing I've heard in years. It sounds exactly what you'd expect Four Tet and Burial to sound like.

One for all you hipsters to seek out

I had a feeling about the reply, I assumed correctly you were an old follower, agree with your comments, tho as I am not a hard core strangler I saw PR in a different light, I admit it took sometime to accept him but it wasn't until he left that I thought he was better than I had originally thought. Thinking on, one of old time bands which I have seen more times than hot dinners and one I always make an effort to see The Vibrators, when they played Rebellion last year without Mr Knox I actually enjoyed them more  perhaps the 30 odd years of punk has paid a heavy toll on my sense of hearing. So long as they continue to breath, with or with original band members I will always enjoy the live shows.
