I don't want to alarm you, but that van looks very suspicious!

Oh so that's what you've been on about 8) It looks such a lovely bike - not in the least bit jealous

Now, where are you going to find enough orange kit to do it all justice? Or have you already had the Trinny & Jashburnham makeover?

It's my brother's, and AFAIK G66 hasn't yet recruited him to steal the bike! :D

Only a matter of time ;) Best to lock all your garmin connect activities that start/end at your house!

Cracking looking bike, LiT. Wheels look very good with it.

I reckon you could get away with tarty, white bar tape too; it would pick out the white "Schwalbe" on the tyres. :)

But then you'd need a white saddle*.

And so it begins... the upgrade path to enlightenment

So did you clean it down after your 65 mile ride? Did you clean-lube-clean your chain afterwards? DB2 thinks I spend too much effort and time on DB1 but it is only right

Hmmmm, yeah, Epic did tell me I should do that. I'll do it tonight, I promise...

Every day you leave it the Maxima cries, Viners need love and lots of it. I shall be checking and if there is neglect then I may have to take it in to care.

Black bar tape is so... cheap. Orange, pink or white, please.

It's exactly this that scares the bejesus out of me about getting an uber bike, can I find the time between the wife and kids to give it the TLC it needs, I mean I struggle to find time to keep the SCR clean and lubed........mind you if I had a bike that cost 10x more the wife might be a bit more generous :-D

The only problem now is I'm stuck between who's bike I prefer.......the Maxima or the Prince - I think given the chance and money to spend I'd plump for a Maxima as you simply couldn't do much better then a full custom build!

I'm surprised you only got out for 2 rides tho, I did say to my wife that if I'd taken delivery of a steed like that she probably wouldn't have seen me all weekend :-D

Yeah, I was toying with the idea of orange bar tape, but then I can't get an orange saddle so it'd be hopelessly mismatched... maybe mix orange and black or summat...

And BJUK, I went out for about 18 miles from Epic on the saturday, but the driving I had to do from London to Epic to Essex (over 300 miles) put paid to any further riding on the saturday!

Maxima or Prince? Maybe a poll! Nah... only kidding. :D

I just made a sex wee.

It's lovely LiT, I hope to see it in the flesh in the near future. I bet the ride is well well worth the money!

Oh oh and how are you finding record 11, and the Speedplays?

    droooool.

I just rode into work after a morning meeting, christ it's a lovely day to be on the bike, I was so tempted to just carry on going.

Only problem I can see is that you live in London and haven't got as much lovely countryside as normal folk like me in Cambs.

Apart from that 5k on a bike - you should be super fit to honour the bike!

What kit did you get exactly? Full specification? :)

You'll be pleased to hear I also have a house in very rural Essex, on the suffolk border. I'm actually planning a ride up to Cambridge before long - lived there for 5 years at a boarding school, it's one of my favourite places in the summer!

Record 11sp, Mavic Ksyrium SL Superlight (isn't that SLSL, Mavic?) Premiums... bars, stem, stuff...

Good good!! Might see you around here then, I went to Great Dunmow yesterday with my club - all in all just above 80 miles!

    Thanks!! :D

Record is reeeeeallly nice! My tifosi on veloce feels clunky and unresponsive in the shifts now. You'll have to have a go on it - I'll try to bring it to the next beerz.

Speedplays are good too - need to get replacement bolts for the three they've shed, which I nicked out of the new cleats. I'm also getting some new shoes - the DHB ones aren't stiff enough and I can really feel the pedals.

Watch this space for the deep aero wheels for the non hilly rides to complement the hill set up.

I don't like the idea of being caught in a side wind with them...

Pah, James survived the ML with his FFWD wheels so it shouldn't be to bad unless you get sucked into the eye of a hurricane! But I do agree that a pair of Zipp 808's or some Mavic Cosmic Carbones would look ace on there :-D

All that bike p0rn on the thread earlier made me visit Evans in Spitalfields during lunch......I really don't know why I like to torture myself! There's nothing quite like being able to inspect some tasty kit in the flesh, found a pair of Scott and Felt TT bikes that barely had enough room to get a ciggy paper between the rear wheel and seat tube
