Damn, any idea on how to upload from Flickr? I went to the trouble of finding a white garage door and everything for this.

Flickr is a PITA (pain in the ass).
Click on the image you want.
Click on the middle arrow (bottom right hand corner).
Then you'll get a dialogue box
    Click on 'BBCode'
The image link is in blue in the strip along the middle.
Copy/paste the link on here, like this:

url=https://flic.kr/p/ppRQGQ]15366209400_b22844efe8_k.jpg[/url]DSC00424 by Robert Day, on Flickr

You can delete everything outside of the two '[/img]' codes, like this: (left hard bracket removed so that it doesn't post an image but you need to keep it in.

    img]https://c1.staticflickr.com/4/3952/15366209400_b22844efe8_k.jpg[/img]

To create a 'clean' image with no leftovers.

Flickr changed it. You used to be able to right click on an image and select 'Copy image address' but I guess that want the advertising with each photo.

Also, any idea on why I get logged out any time I try and post from a computer.

Bring the subject up in 'Discuss the website with the team' - it's at the top of the forum list.

Poor valve alignment, poor crank alignment, poor lighting. The saddle and post haven't been adjusted to suit until I can test ride it.

Is that a standard frame colour? That is utterly brilliant - I neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed one.

Bollorrcks: having seen that I now need a new project. Bugger.

Standard frame colour - CAAD5 NOS from 2002. I already had an ongoing Cannondale obsession, so when I went into a local bike/coffee shop for a flat white and saw the frame hanging up, I had to have it. Most expensive flat white in existence!

2nd attempt, whilst comparing Zipp 404 and Mavic CXR ultimate 60.

I'll have to take another with both the zipp's on soon.

    Do your worst.

It's just that DA chainset - it's fugly. I'm not saying the 4 arm Campag one is much better but your eyes are drawn towards it.
Has form and function gone out of the design window so now it's just function?

I can somewhat agree, it is old and dura ace has come a long way in its looks, but it works and well, but I would like to upgrade in the near future, but what to?
Should I go ultegra compact crankset? Slightly newer DA to match the rear derailier?

    Anything you'd recommend?

I'm a die hard Campag bloke but... as chainsets are cross compatible, if you didn't want the expense/miss match of a Campag one, why not Sram or FSA? They're quite aesthetic, no less efficient and well priced. I like the Sram Red for example.

Hmmm, not a bad idea, I don't think I'd want to mix match that much, but you've opened my eyes a bit to more ideas, I'll report back soon.

I've got 404's that'll be going on it, would be great if I could find someone stupid enough to swap the rear 404 for an 808.

No tan tyres though unfortunately, there's definitely a place for them, but not on this bike. :D

Got the posing down. Just need to sort out the background
(Plan is clean garage door or the wall later and re-shoot them)

Fit a black stem and saddle while you're at it.
    Or white tape.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

In the spirit of the thread (ie setting myself out as a tedious, picky pedant), building on comments above:

    - Would prefer the garage door lines (and, indeed, the bike) to be horizontal
    - Would prefer a white door (y u no repaint door for picture?)
    - Possibly a lower POV would help, getting those chainstays aligned and one hidden behind the other (I tend to prefer moving further away from the subject and zooming in to achieve this sort of thing).

    That said, I don't have a Cervélo.
Cube Reaction GTC Pro 29 for the lumpy stuff
Cannondale Synapse alloy with 'guards for the winter roads
Fuji Altamira 2.7 for the summer roads
Trek 830 Mountain Track frame turned into a gravel bike - for anywhere & everywhere
  • Holding the camera level would be a good starting point, but credit due for valve alignment, tyre logos etc.

Reverse the door so the door line slopes in the same direction as the top tube.
