Hi,
Has anyone tried a Cycleops Mag trainer? I'm thinking of getting one, after going round in circles and bouncing from one website to another. I've put a rather arbitary price cap of £100 on my new turbo. My Tacx Flow has finally died, and whilst I was happy with it, I can get most of my training info from my HRM so thought I go for a more simple one this time.
If anyone has an opinion or tried/owns a Cycleops I'd be interested in a brief review.

I spent ages looking at Cycleops trainers before finally buying one at the end of last year for winter training. After looking at all the options I finally ended up buying the most basic, the wind one along with the cycleops mat. Why? because it was dirt cheap at Ribble!
Its a really good unit that does everything I need, although usually criticised for being both light on resistance and noisy - I actually find I get a perfectly good session on it by just using the gears and its in an isolated area so noise is not really an issue (although it could make you go mad slowly...).
I would certainly recommend Cycleops, and we are planning to buy another very soon."Life is like riding a bicycle - in order to keep your balance, you must keep moving." A. Einstein0 -
I've had the Mag for about three years now, and it is a good bit of kit. Solid construction with a good flywhell and resistance unit. Holds the bike firmly as well. You can upgrade it to the Mag+ whenever you want simply by buying the remote cable (about £20), but works equally well without it, just means you have to set the resistance before you get on. Definately worth it.0

Got 3 winters of trouble free use out of mine. As the guy up the thread says, you can do any session using your gears for resistance. My girlfriend sold mine on and its new owner seems happy too."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"
