I lost another 1.3 pounds last week so that is 11.9 pounds since we started the original 'lose a stone' thread, or 14.6 pounds since Christmas. So, I've lost over a stone now, but I want to lose at least 2 more.
I'll carry on posting in these threads until I'm happy with my weight. I'm currently 14 st 12.1 lbs but I would like to get down to about 12 st 7 lbs.

Nice one Colin. I think I am managing to avoid putting any more on at the moment which is a bonus.
I did 5 minutes on the trainer a couple of days ago at a heady 45 watts average too!0 -

I think I'd have real psychological problems with riding a bike again after an injury like that! I hope that you make a rapid and complete recovery.
PS What's happened to all you other lardy cyclists - many of you haven't hit your one stone targets yet!0 -
Well, today I did 10 minutes at 55 watts!
Getting on and off is a bloomin' nightmare though...0 -
start 93
monday 83.8kg
It's not been a good week so I'm not expecting much for next monday. I've been feeling tired with symptoms of being a bit run down so have been doing only minimal cycling. Today I drove to Southampton and back. The journey out was ok but the journey back was a flamin nightmare. I've been sat in the car with 4 kids for 11 hours today. The girl we visited gave the kids some mini eggs, and I had a handful of them. God, I am so shattered now. I need my bed.
zzzzzzzzz
BTW, I want to be around 76 - 78 kg by the time I do the etape but I think my normal weight should be 80kg. I've been 80kg before and people started saying I looked a bit gaunt.

I'm aiming for approximately 78-80 kg this time (12 st 3 lbs - 12 st 7 lbs). I'll make the final decision by looking in the mirror. As I'm getting older (I'm 53), my skin is losing its elasticity and I don't want to look like some haggard old man. I'd rather have a small band of fat round my waist and go uphill a few percent slower if I have to in order to keep what's left of my looks!0 -
Last week 198lbs
This week 194lbs
Dropped the four pounds that I have put on due to the new canteen at work (it's evil, she makes lots and lots of nice food. She tempts you with healthy chicken kebabs, then traps you into raspberry and white chocolate bread and butter pudding, aaaagggghhhh)
Anyway, have escaped from the temptation and got back on track, so sitting happily at a total of 26lbs lost since January. Still want to drop a few more to get down to about 185lbs, however bodyfat is now more of a priority.
This week has been pretty good, sticking with the three spin classes on a morning. Ben decided to give us a bit of a push this week, so spent 12 minutes of wednesday mornings class climbing at maximum intensity, god that hurt, but felt really good afterwards. Resistance training is coming on well, working on core stability for better balance on the bike, as well upper body strength for more pull when climbing.
Am experimenting with the diet a bit now, looking for more variety now, rather than just chicken, salmon and baked potatoes. Have a good recipe for chicken kebabs, which is really low fat, using natural yoghurt, but can't live on them.0 -

In 1986 when I finished university (I was a 'mature' student) I weighed 10 st 10 lbs (68 kg) and I needed a belt to hold my 32" waist jeans up! Mind you, I was a bag of bones, no significant muscles anywhere. My arm muscles now are almost as big as my legs were then.
My face just can't take me being sub-12 stone any more. A mate suggested that being a really fit cyclist should be all that matters, and it shouldn't matter if I look old, gaunt and haggard. Well, at most I'd spend 15-20 hours a week on my bikes (usually less) and I'm stuck with the face for another 150-odd hours so the facial appearance gets the casting vote.
I'm not out to win the Tour de France, I just want to stop getting dropped every time the road goes upwards!0 -
I was 10 st for years until my thirties and suddenly it all went downhill! The main reason why I got back into cycling was to halt the progress of the beer belly, job done!
Definately helps on the climbs, thought winnats was pretty easy a couple of weeks ago!0
