I'm starting the thread for the new week here.

I lost 1.2 pounds last week and am currently 10.6 pounds (4.8 kg) down for 2009, or 12.8 pounds (5.8 kg) down since Christmas.

How are you doing folks?

That's impressive! When did you start losing the weight?

Started last june, decided i wanted to lose it slowly and steady. No point it all falling off quickly and then it all piling back on again. Started 2/3 spin classes and 2 body pump classes a week along with trying to get out at least once a week on the bike.
    I love cabbage and bacon.
  • I've only recently got back on the weight loss thing...

But I managed to loose 2kg from friday to monday! It was the longest ride i'd ever done in between though

I agree with you there. I'm only averaging about a pound a week but I'm not having to try particularly hard to do that so I know that I can keep it up.

I've lost weight quickly in the past by virtually starving myself and when I got to the winter that year, I piled it all back on again.

Unless you have allowed for dehydration, a lot of that is probably due to fluid losses.

On hilly 200 km audax rides, I usually get home about 2-3 kgs lighter, but only about 0.5 kg of that would be fat loss. The rest comes back on within 2 days as I rehydrate.
  • Yeah, i'm sure it's now back up to a more realistic figure. But it was a day after.

Made me feel a bit better though!

    Start 93
    last Monday 84.2
    this Monday 83.3
I think the loss is due to dehydration from 105mile Cheshire cat on Sunday. Expecting this to rise a bit by next Monday.
It's going to be a light week of cycling for me - I'm really looking forward to an hour spinning in the sunshine tonight.

I dropped 6 stone in 3 months from October 2007 to January 2008. Since then I have managed to keep most of it off.

But - in the past week I have buckled down and am on another weight loss kick. Want to drop another stone by June for racing.

Have dropped 4 pounds in the last week. Down to 13s5 - want to reach 12s even if possible.

My weigh ins go Friday - Friday..
Last week things got a bit disrupted due to a funeral and my wife being ill.. so effectively got Thursday (hill reps) Friday (Spinerval session on the turbo.. lost 1.5Kilo in sweat) Sat 115K with 1460M climb in 4:50. Wind was severe. Today hard 2hr (56K ) with 450M climb (BRT=525) in 1.58 again v windy. Rest day tomorrow.
Weight wise Friday 95K same as before... which I'm happy given diet and training this week. Off on holidays Thurs for Easter. going by ferry so bringing bike.. although don't fancy mainland roads. Have to find some quiet lanes in Lincolnshire. Easter Weekend is 3rd week of 4 week training so can relax a bit in Easter Week itself.[/img]

Heavy............ that's all I will add at the moment.

I had lingering cold, depressed with my form, failed my challenge of riding 4 off road trails in a day so tucked into a few(packets of) sweets. I finally shifted my cough and completed Flanders this weekend so I'm back on the right road, just a little heavy at the moment.

Chalk me up for 340km this weekend.

6 feet tall. And to be fair - I was pretty overweight to begin with! Started at almost 19 stone - got down to just under 13. Have stayed between 13 and 14 stone for the last year but now want to get down to 12 even. That'll be about as low as I can go.
