So, the question remains, have you purchased any thing high viz ol' fella? For High Viz today, I wore a lumberjack shirt as it was too warm for a jacked and too cold for just a tee shirt.....

Nope, haven't purchased anything in the bright yellow (rival the sun - which I don't think is actually yellow something that hot, should surely be white up close) variety.

Gonna ask the GF to buy me a nice jacket, but with the weather being nice and all not really seeing the point at the moment TBH. Plus all money is being added to the Kuota fund if I can help it.

How's those padded lycra shorts and cycle specific jersey working out for you?

Agree! Get the bike first - all the "accesories" can be sorted later.....Man need gadgets, not clothes.

    Two tips

    1) the Gore Xenon Gilet comes in a colour called "fireball" which is very visible. It also has reflective bits. The cut of it is great, it's not horrible and flappy like a workmans hi viz vest.
It's also highly windproof and breathable. If you really can't face it in a bright colour it is also availablein black

    2) hi viz ankle band reflectors
    like this

    ankle_yellow.jpg
They are easily carried around, they are arguably more visible than a vest as they are moving

The respro company (linky'd above) also makes sticker kits that are black in daylight but reflect like a lighthouse at night

Padded shorts are good thanks. Cycle jersey is nice but I save it for weekend rides as its a bit pointless on my commute.
