Will narrower tyres make super galaxy any quicker?

As the title asks, will narrower tyres make much difference on a galaxy or do i need to buy a new road bike to get more miles in a bit quicker?
I'm trying to build up on my distance training but don't always have as much time as it takes on the galaxy and sometimes i feel i'm working against the 700x32 tyres that are fitted at present.

Narrow tyres will make you go slightly faster yes, but it's not its about your fitness too.0

Or 23mm tyres...'Twas Mulga Bill, from Eaglehawk, that caught the cycling craze....0

I'd go by weight personally. A nice pair or 23 or 25mm tyres and a high psi should do the trick. Merlin cycles have some reasonable deals on road tyres.'Happiness serves hardly any other purpose than to make unhappiness possible' Marcel Proust.0

+1 for pressure. Higher PSI is quicker if you can live with the reduced comfort, but going to 23 should be a bit quicker. Not much else you can do, other than sticking race wheels and aero-bars on it, which would look a bit wrong on a Galaxy0

I did exactly this, and it was an improvement. Just be careful if on very soggy ground as the 28mm will dig in more.0

The narrower the tyre the worse the ride. Audax bikes are fitted with 28mm, i wouldn't go any narrower unless it's a racing bike!0

Depends on the tyres - I ride generally in winter for training on 28 mm gatorskins, and wouldn't consider anything less... increase in rolling resistance over 25mm is irrelevant compared with joy of not having to be particularly precious about surface (i always avoid main roads). I commute every day on 32mm slicks (bontrager racelites) and would happily do fast longer training rides on them. I ride about 250 miles min a week, training and commuting, and never really understood obsession about 23mm or 25 mm tyres except for racing as on group rides on 28mm (or 32mm) I've never felt a problem...0
