Cadences (even mine) change when riding in a group/bunch. It's difficult to start generalising anyway because people choose their cadence depending on so many factors... Muscle mass is just one of those things.
Generalisations are generally false, including this one.0 -

To be honest when in a bunch racing I find that the vast majority have a very similar cadence, both on flat and climbing, not same cadence on climb and flat but same as each other.0 -

You always have to be pushing your limits, with either distance or intensity (or both), stop mincing about.
What he said!!
If your not tired then do a few intervals or cycle past your house for a few miles and come back at high intensity....No point leaving the house if it is too easy!
...You are allowed to ride a bike for fun aswell! you don't have to practically kill yourself every time out on the bike. If I did that all the time id get pretty sick of riding...
I can understand your point but different people have different motivations and pleasures. I get great satisfaction out of pushing myself and setting PB's over my commonly used courses. If I don't put in an effort then, due to my lack of time available to commit, I feel I have wasted an opportunity.
To be fair the OP was asking about training and there is no gain without a little pain.17 Stone down to 12.5 now raring to get back on the bike!0
