What? Dave_1 called Aurelio a bitter loser, a defamatory and personal attack. How is that selective moderation?

Well you call people twats at least twice ive seen and ive yet to see you pulled for it, he is pulled for this so as i say its very selective. Its quite ironic its you that replied to this because you are often guilty of the personal stuff especailly when it comes to Dave_1. and yet you go blubbering to the mods when you dont like a post or thread .............go figure eh!
Gasping - but somehow still alive !

Aurelio, you're not chilled. I am well aware of how grand tours are won. But in your postings we see the anger of a bitter loser in life, ...this forum should strike a balance between free speech and bitter losers being able to take over the forum debates...what have you acheieved as a racing cyclist?

If you feel that anything I argue deserves criticism, please do so (applying as much sarcasm as you can muster, if you so wish) but I am afraid that your tactics completely debase the whole concept of argument.

As to free speech, is trying to get any post that winds you up deleted an illustration of how you feel the concept of 'free speech' is best preserved?

As to your petulant personal attacks. Believe me, I couldn't want for a better life!

Not that old chestnut. Can someone please explain to me why only those who've performed at the highest level of a sport are qualified to give an opinion on it? The level of 'analysis' provided by the likes of Shearer and Lawrenson on Match of the Day would strongly suggest that it's no qualification whatsoever.
Dave_1 obviously feels that his comments are well 'qualified' by his racing experience. A few stage wins in some major Tour perhaps. Or has he just managed to get round in the bunch in a few 3rd cat 'Chippers'. I wonder?

Dave_1 and I have a robust relationship. He questions my opinions and I question his and sometimes we both venture beyond polite conversation. We've been doing this for the best part of 5 years. I respect his right to air his views and hopefully he has the same opinion on mine.

I think you make personal attacks on an almost daily basis but I don't go crying foul when they are aimed at me. Maybe you need a dose of your own medicine.

IIs funny how your personal attacks are regarded as robust relationships yet my supposed ones arent and you accuse me of doing it on a daily basis without any justification. Like most in here i have opinions and express them but isnt that what forums are for. I just cant be arsed with people like you who go all personal regularly yet ask for mods to wipe their arse at the first sign of a supposed personal attack . Anyway i couldnt give a monkeys if you decided to personally attack me but i cant be arsed when you display the kind of hypocrisy you do in here.

  • You know what i find funny is that the Pro Lance boys scream for evidence of him doping if you have any doubt about his tour win and when you come up with some stuff that actually does cause some reason for debate your a sad F%$# that needs to get a life and be kept away for him incase your mentally ill. Come on, get back to the point and leave the personal stuff to the playground (which can be said for both sides of the argument). Back to the point.

Yes but Armstrong will be gone next year. Race organisers need to get people interested in Contador and Sanchez and to build up the race on sustainable foundations, not a one off circus event.

For all those attacking Aurelio, if half your energy was spent lobbying the UCI for cleaner racing the sport would be so much healthier. Remember the news that prosecutions under the bio passport scheme were "days or weeks away"? Only that was... months ago.

Like it or not, organised doping, whether internal to the team or outsourced to witchdoctors, has been the scourge of professional cycling in creating an arms race with riders taking increasing risks to outperform each other.

Anyone shining a light on these dark practices, those who lift the carpet to reveal the sweepings of Verbruggen and McQuaid, those willing to chip away at the omerta, all these people should be supported. By all means question the argument but try not to get personal.

as you say, next year they will have others to build the event up on...buit for now, in the current economic climate I am sure the organiser will never take your view...they will be happy LA is there. As for Aurelio, he's like the loon that runs in front of F1 cars, the one they were handing out leaflets about years back at ToB...look out for the guy...plenty others make their point and discuss cycling generally on other threads...you need to realise that...i want to talk about cycling , not one issue

As for all those who tuned into the TdU, i live in adelaide and while the event is great its not really helping get us better coverage of the racing scene. Apparently Lance broke his collarbone in the Milan San Remo race even though that race was days ago atleast thats what was being reported here. And yes thats the first bit of cycling news we've had since the TdU.

MG youre spot on there, AndyP like it both ways, infact to quote him, hes a bit of a twat. In his world personal offence can be given but should nbever under any circumstances be recieved. Im sure he'll complain about this when hes not letting the world know about his unrivalled knowledge of the classics. Its a shame when hes not being the self appointed arbitar of taste that his utterings are bland and rather average as i suspect his life is. Perhaps thats why he likes his "authority" and "status on here.

What on earth are you talking about? That certainly doesn't sound like any Andyp I know and I've had some decent disagreements with him in the past.

As a former boss of mine used to say, show me 5 examples of my so called personal attacks and I'll pipe down.

Let's stick to talking about cycling.

Why? is a position opposed to you or your views always wrong?

Iain, Ive seen your discussions with AndyP and often theyre interesting and add value, unfortunately AndyP has a group of posters that hes frequently rude to, complains about the content of their posts or suitability for any particular place in the forum. He takes a self appointed supperior attitude at times yet at others he acts in exactly the way that he complains about.

As I said before, show me five examples of my so called rudeness and I'll pipe down. I note MG hasn't taken up the challenge yet.

I complained vociferously about one of your posts which the moderators chose to remove. Rightly in my opinion, as it contained puerile and sexist content. You've taken this one incident and formed an opinion of me based on that. I don't care what you think of me to be honest.

2nd at the GP Zurich...at 20...world's best at 21...i was jealous..I and many were nowhere near as good as him...however, i have not got resentful of the fact he was the one in a million-several million....many of the anti Lance brigade you can't handle this fact IMO.

    enjoy

talent and aptitude are important ...it's not only doping that does it...despite what Aurelio and Andyp say about the doping...it's talent too...loads of it...do you care about the fact you make the whole race forum look like cycling wins are only down to doping? Great image of the sport to the outside on this forum eh...thanks

The reason i havent taken up your so called challenge is the search facility on this site is mince and i havent got the time nor inclination to search your 6000 odd posts but i dont need to ive seen you call two seperate people twats who had the temerity to disagree with you and ive seen you fling insults at a few others who also disagreed with you. But i dont care about that really what i care about is when whingers like you go running to mods about posters and threads you dont like yet you do the same yourself, people like you have more faces than that big ugly clock tower in London !

Let me get this straight, cycling's bad image isn't a result of the large number of top level professional riders caught with their hands in the doping cookie jar but is due to me and Aurelio posting on here?

Glad we've got that straight then.

So basically you can't prove your allegations but you'll continue to repeat them in the hope that someone will believe them?

That's really quite ironic coming from you. You're not really Aurelio in disguise are you?

Andy, you shouldn't even be watching the classics on TV...you have no faith in it. I saw a while back you went so far as to put LA's career down to "a better responder to doping"...therefore for you there is no talent shining through...only better responsders to doping...I believe talent is the major part of it...and it is getting cleaner... you have no way to know who definitely is and is not clean...I am willing to accept doping went on, i still think the best guys won most if not all the time. The Riis only a result of doping theory doesn't stand up to much scrutiny either when you look pre 93. As I say...you enjoy your "better responder to doping" take on the sport-for me it's nonsensical...i'd not watch

So you deny calling other posters twats becuase they disagree with you then ? do you deny getting all personal on several occasions when you didnt like what was posted ? do you deny running to the mods squealing about posts you didnt like ? Now i know and you know you did all these things so i dont expect you to answer in the negative. Also note its your hypocrisy that annoys other posters not the fact you go personal.

I called Dave_1 a twat once. I reported one thread due to it's inappropriate and sexist content. The rest is opinion or conjecture.
