Who wants to loose a stone by March Week 11 March 17th - 24

ok, will get it going seeing as I had a good week.

Start 93kg
last week 85.8kg
this week 84kg

A good week of cycling, 8 hours, including a hilly 50mile sportive. I thought the weight loss must just have been dehydration from the ride but after a day of eating and drinking lots, it's still at 84.

I feel like I'm starting to think differently - I can go to a buffet at a christening or a funeral (as yesterday) and not pile up my plate with sausage rolls & cakes. I allow myself little treats, so I dont feel that I'm denying myself, but I'm finding it much easier to control myself. I just want to cycle faster more than I want to eat cake!

good result - you are getting in some good rides too so not only are you losing weight you are getting more powerful up them hills.

    a double edged sword!

there's no way you should choose the 66 mile over the 102 now...

    keep going.

Good going Popette, 9kg is a good figure.

    As for me:

    Last week: 197lbs

    This week: 193lbs

So another four pounds off, giving 21lbs since I started on here, and 27lbs in total since birthday (only a pound of 2 stone :D )

Four pounds to go and I'm at my target of around thirteen and a half stone.
Another intensive week at the gym, coupled with sensible eating. As Karen says, it's starting to get to the point now where the diet is under control, and I don't feel the need to eat everything in sight.

Congratulations to Popette and Tony W. Wish I had been half as successful - or even a quarter. :)

Weighed in at 16st4, a nominal loss of 3lbs on the week. More importantly, I have broken below 16st5, so there is reason to believe I can start heading down again at long last.

Unfortunately, I have managed to come down with the cold. I can't diet with a cold because it just prolongs the agony. As I suffer from "Man" colds, I need to get better before my wife files for divorce! So this week will probably be a write off.

More seriously, I have broken the frame of my beloved R3. For reasons I won't bore you with I had to do an emergency stop. In order to stop in time I ended up planting both feet on the ground. Unfortunately, a side effect of that was that I "sat" on my top tube and, because I am Hagrid rather than Legolas the elf, it broke. Disaster!

Cervelo will replace the frame under its crash warranty program but that might take as long as three weeks. In the meantime, I am bikeless. I have an old broken down hybrid lying around in the garage that I am going to have to resuscitate -- just as soon as I get over this cold!

    Congratulations to Popette et al.

Well, I've finally got the weight shifting again... I haven't lost as much as I was hoping to but I'm getting there slowly. My total loss since Christmas is now 10.3 pounds (4.7 kg). It doesn't sound a lot but it's taken nearly 5 inches off my waist and I'm looking and feeling better for it.

The weight should start coming off more quickly now that I'm doing at least one hard ride a week and several other easier rides or hilly walks.

i think i'm going to struggle with wieght management for a few weeks now but im already desperate to get back out there.

need to stand up though first!
  • I dont believe it!

I was 122kgs on Sunday morning. Did the same ride as Popette, and now i am 124kgs. Must be my body producing, or over producing glycogem which is heavier than water.

    Bugger it.

Target is 120kgs as fast as possible, being sensible.
    Then 110kgs.
Then 95kgs, then will have a think and see how low i can go without looking like a rake or emaciated.

    Start 89.1 Kg
    Last week = 85.9 Kg
This morning 85.5 Kg, 18.1% fat, 54.6% water.

This might be a bit false because I've decided to start weighing myself ten minutes after I get up in the morning after a glass of water compared to previous reports when I've weighed myself in the eveneing around 9 pm.

    Rode

    Thurs 20 m
    Fri 20 m
    Sun 12.5 m
    Mon 20 m
Today 20 m....but all these are on my old MTB.

    evening all,

congrats all round on the weight loss, i too have been working hard since the end of january and have gone from 108kg to 100kg, with a target weight of 90kg. I started doing around 30-40 miles per week now doing around 60- although i have had puncture problems the last fortnight which is slowing me down somewhat!

Am looking forward to the end of the rugby season so i can bolster my mileage abit and get trim in time for the beach!

    keep up the good work!

Congrats to everyone, these threads are always really motivational to read.

Can I ask that you spell 'lose' correctly tho, it makes me wince everytime I see it. And yes, I am slightly OCD about these things :-)

My weight is sitting at 80kg and won't budge but down from 89kg last August. I'm doing 200miles a week and eating all sorts of crap. I always find that my apetite isn't anywhere near as voracious during the warmer months and my weight drops steeply in May and June... maybe its just me tho :-)

  • I got down to 14 stone just before Christmas (Should be under 13). Last week I weighed in at a mighty 14.5 stone, so I started extending my commute. So this week I did a 30 mile, 25, 27, 25 and 18 weighed myself and had put on 3 pound.

Why Lord?? Why do you punish me this way??!!
