    Talk about ageist - is there an assumption that if you are over 50:
    a) you don't commute by bike
    b) you don't cycle
    c) you're not computer-literate
    d) you're not interested in anyone else's views

    Occasionally when I cycle to my club run I pass a bloke coming out of town riding with a mate. I've just found he's 78 :shock:

    Was even more impressed when about 4 hours later I saw him on his way back in to town.

    It sounds so old to be 50, but I don't feel anything like that old.
    Cycling keeps me young, and to prove it I've just bought Wii Fit.
    It's given me a Wii Fit age of 30!!!!

    Eeek! I'm 36 in May, so I will click now while I am a full dot below a mid life crisis..!
    On some rides, my knees feel 50ish and my rear a little nappy sore. Always young at heart though :)

    Why is there just one category for the 50+ ? Is nobody interested to know if we are over 60 , over 70 ...etc. Is anybody interested in us at all ?
    Are we just seen as an amorphous mass , each one indistinguishable from the other , only noticeable when we take a long time to pack our bags and pay at supermarket checkouts ?

    It is quite possible I did not tell the truth earlier about my age.

    Having said that, I did get asked for ID in Waitrose two years ago - I called over my 8 and 6 years olds, asked if they were valid forms of ID.

    And just two weeks ago, I was asked if I was studying in Southampton (when my Dad told a friend where I lived) I said I had been, 17 years previously.

    Perhaps time to start dressing and acting like a grown up?

    Not really (18 + 19 + 20) should easily be less than (51, 52,53,53,54,55,56,57,58,59,60,61,62,63,64,65,66......)

    Ahh, the climbing centre at Kinlochleven. Positive proof that the Yeti is real. The male of the species has a bear, the female has hairly legs. These wiry, weather beaten creatures flock there in great numbers.
