Just a thought, LiT, but I'm sure I saw a Viner in my local Halfords when I popped in the other day...perhaps you could have saved time and ordered one there...
It's just a hill. Get over it.0 -
Having complete missed the Viner news on the other thread I'm now forced to reflect on the evil influence of the interweb which can convert in double-quick time an innocent like the former Ms LiT ("guys in the bike shop laughing at my ebay bargain") into an Italian custom carbon exotica procuring sybarite.
Haven't you heard of the credit crunch? Conspicuous consumption is soooo 2007.

ps: nice bike, as you can tell I'm not jealous at all...
pps: "sybarite" - top word, no?0 -
WHERE IS THE VINER?0

Record 11sp, it's brilliant in every way. I have no further useful input. Brilliant.0 -

As it's a custom build, it was set-up in top gear, 53x11. Yes, there are shifters and mechs on the bike but doesn't necessarily mean they are connected to each other.
Nice bike for the commute.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -
Wow £4000 is an awful lot of money for a girl to spend on a bike,do they really cost that much? You could get about 10 handbags for that and still have change for a pair of shoes. Doesn`t that make it,like, one of the best bikes in the world, ever?Smarter than the average bear.0

I see, so the £2799 quoted is probably just for the frame.I must say it does look nice, and sound nice.Somebody is certainly flush and doing her bit for the fiscal stimulus.I am not at all jealous,of course.Smarter than the average bear.0

Er chaps, isn't it rather ungentlemanly to speculate on price? Just enjoy basking in the glow of someone you know on the internet having a sexy bike0

I'm not speculating- frankly, the ballpark figure I have in my head is enough unless/until I'm able to afford a lovely beast like that myself- there's pretty much no limit once you start speccing high end kit....my computer's the same (I could have got a very nice road bike, even at 2009 money, for the price I paid two and a bit years ago. And yes, there's an apple on the side...). LiT's exactly the kind of person who should buy one...in other words, she's got it because she wants the best and she'll make the effort to 'live up to the bike', not just stick it in the corner of a museum or pootle round to the shops at 5 mph. I'd be the same (though my first choice for spending that kind of money is made in a shed in Bradford-on-Avon- I'd naturally like a Maxima or equivalent as well...).Dahon Speed Pro TT; Trek Portland
