I am after a decent DVD to watch whilst on the indoor trainer. What do you watch?

Ideally I would lier some Tour footage that shows about an hours worth of action with no interviews that interrupt the flow.

There are alot of DVD's to choose from. Any recommendations?

  • 1989 Tour de France is hard to beat.
1986 and 1990 are also quite good.

I don't think there are any interruptions to the action on those. DVD lasts about 2 hours I think.

All the post 1999 ones have interviews and little feature sopts in between the stages. they are also much longer (4-12 hours each).

Out of the more recent tours, 2003 is most exciting. 2001 is also quite good.

Tis true the post 1999 ones have interviews, but they are in between stages, (repeating for emphasis) thus the interviews happen at the end of a stage. So, with both the long versions of the 2000 and 2002 DVD's you are able to watch the ascents of the Ventoux in their entirety which last about an hour, and both show the glorious French countryside in fabulous sunshine. Also, the 2000 DVD features Lance's awesome attack up the Hautacam, thus all the DVD's are worth researching. Happy to dig them out and provide further details - which of course would give me an excuse to re-re-re-re watch those tha I have.

Got the extended versions of Lance's 7. As said before the extended versions show the whole ascent of classic climbs like Alpe D'Heuz and Mount Ventoux. Keep me occupied on and off trainer. Gonna buy the 08 tour so i can give Cav a run for his money!
