I think the orange is quite funky in an old school retro70s tastic kind of way! I quite like the lime greeen on the Core 20,too..... 8)

Its funny because I normally like subtle colours, but I reckon a fun bike needs to be a fun colour!

Hi mate. I got the R'hopper from Evans RTR scheme last year after nearly 10 years on a 1999 R'hopper.

It is a great bike, and so much better than me. I have replaced the SPD's because I didn't like them off road and they are now on my road bike. I've recently put new tyres on, Kenda Nevegal and Kenda blue grooves as recommended by Toasty and Northwind off here. The OE fasttracks were not suited to loose surfaces/mud and I kept puncturing. I've also put some lock on grips on her as the OE ones came loose in the wet.

I'm very pleased with the bike and would highly recommend one.

Have you looked at the Gary Fisher Hookooekoo?

Spesh Pitch Pro looks tempting for an under £1k full susser

Happy spending whatever you go for.

Hadnt seen thart GF, was mainly looking aty sale bikes and the RH got in there as spidey suggested it early on.

I dont need a full suss to be honest as I dont really do much jumping.

if that core 40 was in stock Id have it by now!

few differences (that I can spot) between the RH and the Q920:
    Q920
    Avid Juicy 5s
    RH
    Avid Juicy 4s

I dont know much so cant really judge whats got better spec apart from the Q920 having better breaks

The GF only has Juicy 3s so quite a bit of a jump down on the breaks anyway.

Felt, Rockhoper, roughly same spec, so what ever you go you won't be wrong.
The Altitude 10 is still an option if you want adjustable travel fork.

If I go full suss Id like to be able to lock out the rear suss if possible

    Short list so far:
    Specialized Pitch FSR Comp 2009 - £977.99
    http://www.evanscycles.com/products/spe ... e-ec001433
From what I have read though it may be a little bit hardcore though as I am not a massive jumper and DH but want to do a bit now and then

    Cannondale Rush 6 2008 - £899.99

    Specialized FSRxc Comp 2009 - £977.99

My vote is for the Pitch. It's not that heavy, around 14kg, maybe less, but the main
advantage over the three above is that whatever you want to jump, you don't have to
worry if the bike can handle the stuff.

If you're not a serious XC rider that wants the lightest bike, then 2kg more won't hurt.

I think its between the Pitch and that Gary Fisher now, the GF has some great reviews from what Ive seen.
