look out for Astana bikes

  • Did anyone see the post on here a couple of years back by a lad who had left his 10k bike outside the shop, complete with obermeyers, for 5 minutes unlocked, and had it nicked. It wasn't even insured. :(:(:( The thieving scrotes have no idea what they've got.
I have a share in a bike shop, and once had some scrotes try to sell us back a bike they had broken into the shop and nicked a week or two earlier. We just bought it back. :(

    Was that moscowflyer ?

Why did you just buy the bike back ? Wont they just keep breaking in and reselling you the same bike ?

Dennis, why is it envy if somebody doesn't like. or simply questions LA? With regards the doping issue, I'm sure that many people would have the same thoughts regarding most of our sport's champions. It doesn't mean that cycling fans are green with envy about every TdF, Giro or Paris-Roubaix winner, does it?

There are plenty of very successful cyclists out there who aren't LA and don't polarise opinion in the same way. That's just Armstrong's personality - he attracts a lot of positive and negative opinion.
  • Where did Dennis go?

Lance your a liar, a cheater and a fraud; sue us! :P

Perhaps someone nicked it thinking they can catch LA out by having it swabbed down CSI style to find traces of whatever in the epithelial s & other body fluids which will be on the frame/bars/seat

Not saying its true just adding to the conspiracy theory list

Damien Ressiot is reported to have been seen in the area carrying a cotton bud and sample jar with a deranged look on his face and a poorly fitted Sutcliffe beard.

If it were, so called, dislike and / or "simply questions" then I could say "well alright", but this is not the case. These are mostly what I would call "attacks" on someones name
by people who have no direct knowledge of this person, although they would claim to
know it all. In truth I write in to give these people a taste of their own medicine. They
call someone an idiot, loser, whatever, and I return the favor. And guess what, they don't like it. Imagine that. Childish? You bet, on both sides.
As for the envy thing I would ask the following question, to start with. Why do people
wear Pro team kits, yet they are not on a Pro team?

Dennis, I just don't understand - if we're all such horrible envious, bile-filled sporting pygmies, why do you hang around here? Can't you stop yourself?

If I go to a pub and it's full of w@nkers, I don't go there again.

Too simplistic. More to it than that. Why do people wear jersey's with JORDAN, and
    his number on the back?

Depends which Jordan you're talking about? The thrice-retired basketball player or the pneumatic Katie Price? :)
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
  • Let me humour you for a moment Dennis...

Of pro kit I own... I wear my Carrera jersey cos i like the retro nature of it, the denim flashes down the side and because i was a pantani fan.

My old Lampre jersey because I like Gibo Simoni's angry short Italian schtick and Cunego's style.

My Brian Dawkins Eagles jersey because he's the kind of athlete and man i think anyone would aspire to be. Team driven, a leader but with it a good family man who helps the less fortunate a lot.

My Warrington rugby league jersey because its my home town team.

None of it has anything to do with envy. I don't envy those guys i respect their achievements and identify with the portrayal of them i am provided with.

  • Denis,

Im jealous of Armstrong for all the top draw birds he pulls.

As a human being from what ive seen and heard, id say he was a bell end.

And i wouldnt want to be a pro rider anyway.

You need a little balance on your pro arsstrong views me thinks.

    Mark
  • maybe their names called jordan? or their from the country called jordan.

perhaps its the same reason football fans wear their favourite teams kit?

i was agreeing with dennis for his first few post, but after a while i was thinking of calling a doctor in his name.

Jesus, lighten up a little. free speech and all...

No - trust me on this - I am a very simple person. It really would be something as basic as that.

No idea about the Jordan thing - Methinks you need a basketball forum to discuss that properly.

O.K. I give up. Seems like everyone feels that's it's just fine for them to rake whomever over the coals, make fun of him, slander him, accuse this or that person of this or that, and the list goes on and on. Yet when I give them a taste of their own medicine they
are all up in arms. How dare I do this. Is anyone out there getting the point I'm trying to make. I think not. I could care less who you hate, love, worship, or adore. I'm doing this because you're doing this. You're right "cougie" it's very simple. Just a little "back at you".
Nothing more. Too bad none of you got it. To think that there is no one out there to call into question and ridicule you for your views is folly. You're not immune to being called idiots or fools. Deal with it.:wink: I'm gone again(for a while).

You have a point in other threads, but this one has nothing to do with Armstrong. Its about ugly bikes getting nicked.

I for one blame Monty Dog and his quest to rid the world of Treks.

Sure none of us is perfect Dennis - but you've gone off in a tantrum over a perceived sleight at Lance and that wasnt the case.

Iain was having a dig at the Columbia bikes, and then after that the Trek bikes.

Trek does not equal Armstrong. Can I slag off Oakleys too - or will you go off on one over that too. Or Giro ? Same results ?

I know there are Lance haters around - but mercifully on this - there wasnt any. So just calm down.

Can i just say - all hail King Dennis. Iain making a remark about an ugly bike - CABOOM!
fantastically entertaining 4 pages of scrap over nothing. exactly what a good forum should entail. Again -- Dennis really very very well done.
  • Yes, I agree.
Dave should change the title of this thread from Look Out for Astana Bikes to
"Dennis hijacks harmless thread then gets on his Envy bike....."

Dennis ... ever wondered why out of around 147,000 registered members, only a handful post, and most likely visit this section of the forum ??? Who is interested in the idle speculation of a small gang of spite-mongers ??? ...
.. who said that, internet forum people ?

Point well taken. For whatever reason I just felt that someone should give them what they give. Nothing more.
