    As above re the difference in bike types, but I would add the my audax bike is in feel quite different from the aluminium road bike I have. Not just the mudguards, the steel frame, gearing etc are different and give a more comfortable feel over rougher roads, the siffer aluminium frame lets you feel every jolts by comparison. The road bike also has a slightly steaper fork angle making the stearing on that quicker, by contrast the more relaxed angle of the audax makes it a bit less nippy on turning.
