girv73 wrote:Twitter is a "micro blog" service where you post short messages - 140 chars max - about what you're doing, questions you have etc. The idea is to "follow" people you find helpful or interesting; doing so means you get to see all their messages. In turn, people who find you helpful, interesting, funny or whatever "follow" you and get to see all your messages. Over time, you build up a list of followers and followees and you get a kind of message stream to read and participate in.
Blimey! It sounds dull and a complete waste of time. Still each to their own0 -

Obviously if LiT posted on Twitter rather than just reading it she'd easily surpass Mr Fry's 163,000 followers.
he is one of the reason why i don't like Twitter too. i find him really "Apple fanboy" like as a tech reviewer, specially with the Blackberry Storm review
Now hold on there a minute kiddo...
The eminent, brilliant Stephen Fry is so much more than a tech reviewer, he is an institution and a national treasure.0 -

Did anyone see the program about him a year or so ago? He suffers from bi-polar disorder and cannot resist shopping when he's feeling 'high'. He owns (or owned) 10 digital cameras that he's never used. Probably explains the obsession with new tech stuff.0 -

i know he is more than a tech reviewer and im not saying that he is rubbish at what he does or questioning his ablities neither but at the tech reviewer front, i just don't agree with him and i lost all the repect for him as a tech reviewer after that biaed review. this same apply to that tech reviewer from New York Times."It is not impossible, its just improbable"

I did. Wasn't it a part of a series about people with depression? I thought it was fascinating.0

Only found Twitter recently (posts about Lance Armstrong's over on the Race forum) but I wasn't taken by it. Thought it was a bit dull. I take a look on Facebook every day but Twitter doesn't interest me.

There are quite a few pro-cyclists twittering and Johan Bruyneel was posting from the Astana Team car during the Tour of Down Under which gave a different slant to the usual view. It'll be interesting to see if he continues to do so at the gior and TdF.SC61.10a: FCN 3, with clip-on guards for winter
