Is the kit as good as Aldi??

I know, you cant expect much for the price but want to know if i should keep the money in my pocket until Aldi gets stock.

IMO the LIDL clothing has not been as good quality as the ALDI stuff for the last couple of years.

The shoes I got last time they were on offer are still looking good, preferred them to the Nike shoes I paid 3x as much for. Depending on the state of the MIP I may buy another pair this time around.

Ta for the heads up tho

Been having a look at the full range of bike bling on sale on thursday and noticed they are selling a pump that does both presta and dunlop valves

The full range you're going to be fighting over can be found here

  • Well, I hauled my ass round to my local store for it opening bang on 8am.

When they've had stuff on before I've usually went down in the afternoon and there's been little left but even at 8am they didn't have a lot of stock out and I believe their policy is to put all the stock out at once.

I did however manage to get

    3 x cycling tops
    1 x jacket
1 x cycling capri pants (for the wife)
2 x packs of cycling socks
    1 x cycle computer

    For £44.

That's just unbelievable value considering you could pay the same for ONE of those items in a cycle shop.

Survived the scrum of Lidl on a bike special offer day. Four of us in there at 8am and more arriving as I paid for the shoes. Still unsure wether to add somer cleats or leave them as flattie pedals only.

  • I bought the shoes last year and they're not good for flat pedals. The sole is too hard which didn't give confidence inspiring grip on my flats. This was on DMR V8s on a MTB so it may be tolerable if your just cycling on the road but I always felt as though my foot was going to slip off.

The latest shoes have a more aggressive tread but still a bit too hard for flats, the living room test seems OK but the real test will be on the streets for them. Know I've got some cleats somewhere so will get some no nails later and attach the cleats.

Got the last pair of shoes in my size!

In hindsight I should maybe have put them on to walk around work in them.

Got a few other bits & bobs too - kickstand (I /know/ but I want one), saddlebag, gloves, capri pants (hoping medium will fit me) :)

There might be other stores in Brizzle that have the shoes in your size if you miss out at your local branch. The last time there were shoes on offer they didn't sell out of the ladies shoes and had them reduced to £10 when the next lot of bike bargains came along in the Lawrence hill branch. I guess it is down to the demographic area.

  • I got a kickstand too. And gloves, jersey, multitool and 4 bike hoists. £30ish

    Hurrah!

It was the Lawrence Hill branch I went to !

Think the news might have spread around a little further this time, I bet almost everything will be gone by the afternoon...

Black is the mans shoes, blue is the girlies colour. The ladies were on the left of the basket.

Picked a blue pair that had ladies on the box, then picked up a box marked men that had a black pair in them.
