Im pretty new to this whole Mountain Bike scene so Im still keeping my eyes and ears open for gear to add to my fairly small current setup. So list all the gear thats important to you, and if possible links for where to buy it, and why its so good.
Me first.
Specialized Pitch Pro 2009 http://www.specialized.com/bc/SBCBkModel.jsp?sid=09Pitch&eid=2
Wellgo MG-1 Pedals http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/?fn=product&productId=1454&categoryId=64
Charge Spoon Saddle http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/Cycle/7/Charge_Spoon_Cromo_Rail_Saddle/5360029530/
Cateye Strada Wireless Computer http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/Cycle/7/Cateye_Strada_Wireless_Cycle_Computer/5360029332/
Camelbak Mule 08 Coyote http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/?fn=product&productId=1664&categoryId=47
Blackburn Mountain Air Pump http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/Cycle/7/Blackburn_Mountain_Air_Pump/1378405810/
Topeak Alien RX16 Multitool http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/Cycle/7/Topeak_Alien_RX_16_Function_Multitool/5300003186/
DHB Hawkley Jacket http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/Cycle/7/dhb_Hawkley_Waterproof_Jacket/5360030691/
Giro Hex Helmet http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/Cycle/7/Giro_Hex_Helmet/5360032480/
Id say thats about all I own.
You dont all necessarily have to link to everything, but a few words about it might be nice. And give any noobs like me some Ideas for future purchases.
Out of the things I own the items that impress me, other than my bike of course, have been my DHB jacket which fits brilliantly and is well waterproof and good in wind, and also the Strada wireless computer which has been very efficient.
Fire away folks
Thanks

altura night vision WINDPROOF jacket- £50 and its the thing i wear if its cold but not raining. fits well.
giant trance x3- loving it.
am getting an xc race bike soon, and a road bike.
i dont want to list everything i own thats bike related, it could take me ages!0 -
add puncture repair kit, cable ties, money and phone. got half a chance then"My life is like a porno-movie, without the sex".0
-
What do you use cable ties for? (sorry for lame question).. for checking suspension sag or something?
and yeah, i actually dont own a puncture repair kit haha, how bad is that!0 -
I would be too scared of listing all my gear then I might work out what it had all cost!0
-
dont know why
been out before and used them to tie back brake lines when the standard ones have snapped. you could use them to temp fix broken bag zips etc, just handy if they can get you home
they dont take up any space and weigh nothing so why not.
and yes, use them to set sag"My life is like a porno-movie, without the sex".0 -
oh yeah, inner tube if you dont fancy fixing it"My life is like a porno-movie, without the sex".0
-
Ah yeah, ive got an inner tube, a continental over priced thing from halfords which i bought en route to hamsterly forest.
Feel free to list things that I should add to my setup, and links if possible
Thanks0 -
well everything i`ve bought online has come from crc, wiggle and stiff.
just get essential things which is pretty much as above and then add as you feel fit.
you might not want to take as much as somebody that does 50 miles across the moors if your just doing the local route.
dont forget gloves and i always wear glasses"My life is like a porno-movie, without the sex".0 -

My burd still believes the whole bike only cost £300!0 -
Haha,
Thanks for going to the effort to list your stuff mate.
I forgot that ive got a DHB Base layer, and some sealskins waterproof gloves.
My sealskins gloves are pretty annoying for me really, they are comfortable, but my hands go seriously cold in them. they just dont seem to keep the heat in at all0 -
SealSkinz stuff is generally bought for its waterproof properties.
Get a proper pair of winter gloves and your hands sweat like mad, I know mine do.0 -

My tyres are :
MICHELIN XCR DRY2
and they're a bit cack to be honest, but then the clue is in the title... they're dry tyres and its the one of the wettest muddyest winters I've known... so I'll be either buying some new 'uns soon or just sitting it out until it dries up...

Going on from previous posts - what are the best tyres for mud and roots? I've been thinking of some Bonty Mud X's - they're not stocked by Wiggle which may or may not be a good sign!0
-
Mud X's are supposed to be brilliant in the mud. One of the magazines did a winter tyre review, and I think Hutchinson Toro came out top.Boardman Road Comp '08
Spesh FSR XC Expert '080 -
I had a pair of Continental Verticals that were great in mud. Mega cheap too, they stock them in Halfrauds.0

I have a load of commuter stuff as well but to be honest I could tell you very little about it. I'd stuggle to correctly name the bike I ride to work on every day - seriously. You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.0 -
