Hi.
Ordered 2 tyres and mudguards from Ribble yesterday, checked like a couple of mins ago and the status is still on received, I'd have though they would have posted the goods today surely since they have took the money out already :?
Thanks
Will.

I've had items from them,& status showing recieved,& the item got delivered that day.
Don't stress,I 'm sure you'll get your goods soon enough. If You did need them REALLY quick, theres always the LBS,with the price premium,.....you pays your money, you takes your choice.so many cols,so little time!0 -
I'm used to ordering online and getting stuff like 15 hours later.0

I've only used Ribble once in the last twelve months, bought groupset, wheels and a few other bits - ordered 9.30 at night, depatched next day, received day after.Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos0
-
Each time I've used them I've received goods very promptly and with the best prices I could find.0

My bike was 2 weeks late and my second order was next day, so it's a bit hit and miss. You do always get your items though, unlike some shops that delay and delay and delay and then can't get anymore stock.0

And that was never going to happen ordering on a Sunday, regardless of where you ordered fromCarlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos0 -
I ordered a frame, bibshorts and a few other bits a couple of weeks ago - was tols 10 days for the frame. The whole order arrives in 6 days from ordering them. I thought that was ok...0

so maybe you should have ordered them from the place that delivers in 15 hours then...?
I'm not psychic...
Most online stores do it, even ebay shops manage to, the only one that does not seem to is ribble.
Anyway I got a dispatch email today, so hopefully should be here tomorrow, 1 day late, that is if it's decent courier.Slow Downcp wrote:willhub wrote:I'm used to ordering online and getting stuff like 15 hours later.

I posted this thread on Monday, Monday is the day I'd expect it to be dispatched.0 -
RIbble's own site says orders are despatched within 24 hours. Assuming they don't work on a Sunday, the earliest they could attend to that order would be Monday morning. I would guess that means they will send it out today. If you want things quicker, buy local...0

Today is tuesday...
Did you read my post...
Alot of places say dispatched within 24 hours, I'd have expected them to dispatch my stuff I ordered on Sunday sometime on Monday, like Monday afternoon
I don't need stuff instantly, but next day is standard tbh.
If I want to build a PC and get it quick you don't go local, you still buy on the Internet.
Clearly it's the same with bicycle stuff as I have ordered online on plenty of occasions and got stuff next day, apart from ribble that seems very slow.0 -
I think you're being a bit hard on Ribble - despatch within 24 hours in my opinion means working hours. As they are not open on Sunday, this means they received it Monday, so would despatch by Tuesday.
It may be that it was desptached yesterday - when I had my stuff it still showed that after it was delivered.Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos0 -

I read yours. I think you had better read mine again.....carefully this time...0 -
I know they mean working hours.
If they receive Monday they also should be able to dispatch Monday, nothing hard about that.0 -
Within 24 hours does not mean after 24 hours has passed.0

I am calm lol, I think I know what within means.
If someone wanted to get something don't within the next hour, then they would aim to have it done in that hours time or before.
Seems someone has never had next day delivery before.
If I order something on Monday it should be able to be dispatched on Monday and I'll stand by that as plenty of other places, not just bicycle kit can do it even if they are busier too.0 -
Some places do, some don't - it also depends how busy they are. I;m sure they receive a lot of orders over a weekend period, as well as one for your tyres.
Doesn't mean Ribble are slow - it just means others are faster.
Have you tried ringing them? I rang with a query on mine and they answered the query there and then.Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos0 -
Why ring them? They've dispatched my stuff today.0
-
So in answer to your question - no they're not slow :?Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos0

It's not slow, but it's not fast too.
Someone told me they usually take something like 6 days and that prompted me to create the thread.0 -
One site I used in the past advertised 24 working hours for despatch, I ordered on a Monday morning, it took 3 days for them to ship it and it was in stock, their argument was they worked 8 hours a day which gave them 3 days to despatch it....I no longer shop with them0

'next day delivery' would have to mean 'same day despatch' - 'despatch within 24 hours' is not the same as 'same day despatch', is it..??
Seems someone has difficulty understanding plain English....0 -
I use a variety of different online shops, I see them like this:
1) Top service: almost always deliver next day if ordered in the morning - CRC and Wiggle, Dotbike, Woolly Hat Shop for example.
2) Slightly less reliable with next day delivery, but often opt for them because of price or availability - Ribble, All Terrain Cycles for example.
3) Bad: usually 3+ days, maybe more, no stock levels indicated, take orders for out of stock items and don't tell you (I could name a few). Only use them once, then they go on my black list.
I am quite happy with Ribble, you know you won't get top service, but prices will usually beat Wiggle, so it is a choice to make. I did however abort a £1000 bike purchase from them because the guy on the phone was very unhelpful (seemed to be trying to be obtuse). But for mail order of simple components, fine.0 -

if they dispatch within 24 hours and dispatch next day then that might aswell be dispatch within 48 hours..
I understand English perfectly.0 -
Will - I think you're being a bit unrealistic. Maybe if you order on a Tuesday, they would be desptached on the same day, but if you order at the weekend the 24 hours would start from Monday - which 24 hours on is Tuesday. Like I said they will receive many orders from 5pm Friday to 9am Monday - you can't expect them all to be sent on Monday.Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos0
