calibration of hrm

Ok, not calibration as such, more just setting it up. Its a polar one, which gives calories burned and obviously heart rate etc etc... If i set it to calculate calories burned with my body weight, is this inaccurate, since i am also (at least when commuting) riding a really heavy steel hybrid. Should i be entering the weight of myself AND the bike, or just myself?
Slightly pedantic for a saturday evening, but hey ho :)

  • Just your calibrate to your weight. The HRM measures how hard you are working, and this will vary with bike weight, gradient, wind conditions, your state of condition etc
