Summer Job

Hi all, just received conformation of my summer job working for sunsail in greece from April 14th onwards like i did at the end on last summer ( as a sailing instructor for anyone interested).

Anyway last time i didn't take my bike as they had mtbs out there and i thought it would be ok. In the end the bikes they had where shite and so i ended up not using them.

There is a really nice coastal road which is really long smooth etc. just the most beatiful road you have ever seen in your life. I am basically trying to figure out wether i should take my bike with me or not. I was tempted to take my mtb but I missed my roadie more last summer.

I'm not that fit atm but am working on it, would 5 months off the bike put me back to square one fitness wise. How much does it cost to fly a bike with you? Was definately going to get a bike bag and pack it down to minimse damage and costs.

I know that i've probably answered the question for myself by posting on here and with what i've said but I just don't know if I would be bothered to make time as I didn't for the 2 months i was there last summer.

    Hi

I fly with my bike (both mtn and the roadie) all the time.

DHB (wiggle's own brand) do a great bike bag, think its about £60 at the moment, Make sure to get one with wheels, I learnt quickly that a bike I can carry comfortably when disassembled intot he bag and with assorted spares soon becomes incredibly cumbersome.

You will have to check with your airline as costs vary. Ryanair charge £15 - or did may have changed, as long as your bikes in the bag, they didn't even weigh it (so stuff everything in with it!!!!

British Airways on the other hand let me take it as part of my bagage allowance, this was long haul to canada however.
I guess its up to the airline
