This is a bit off topic, but is there any evidence at all that a hormone, when ingested, can survive your stomach acid and all of the enzymes in your digestive system, get into your blood stream and find its way into your brain across the blood brain barrier?

As a mere inorganic chemist I look at the structure of melatonin and think - for starters the amide group is going to fall off.

It's a sub-lingual delivery (you let it dissolve under your tongue, for the uninitiated). The acid/enzymes in your mouth must give it a hit, I guess, but that said, it does seem to work; I've used it on planes (at non-sleeping times) and it's knocked me out, and I made the mistake of using it at 3.30am, and it seems to last longer than 4 hours! I felt like death dragging myself up at 7.30.

But the skeptic in me thinks that sugal pills would also SEEM to work.

I don't know - someone out there must have looked into this sort of thing.

You've bought all that in one year???

    Wow.

Not that I'm implying anything about female live-in partners, but do you live with a GF/wife? If you've got all that past her, then double extra kudos.

I know, I know it is quite shocking when one lists it all but it has all truly come into use and of value throughout the year!

I live with my fiance and she sure has noticed the Wiggle deliveries and slowly mounting pile of cycling stuff in our 2nd bedroom! The next planned purchase of a road bike may well not be met with such receptivity! :)

You better get a proper bike because I would be ashamed of wearing some of that nice kit on a crappy hybrid

  • Having read the lists above I now realise that I don't have the Wiggle addiction to the same degree as many others.

Can't see the missus seeing this as a positive thing mind.

She hasen't seen the recent bill for seal skin socks yet, "how much for one pair of socks"!
    I ache, therefore I am.

Gabriel, I'm all too aware of my present kit>bike mismatch. I obviously have aspirations to 'trade up' but my hybrid despite being not as aesthetically appealing still causes roadies plenty of problems on my commute.....

Now I have quite a lot of kit - obviously not on the Greg scale. What I find more remarkable than the amount is that so many of you are anal enough to actually be able to list it all!!! I was rummaging in my cycling top drawer yesterday and pulled out a spec jersey that I'd forgotten even existed...

Gabriel, you have both Spanish and Basque kit. isn't this a little, I dunno, schizophrenic?

  • Bear in mind that I am a girl...

I have 3 sets of bib tights, 3 altura night vision jackets mostly through buying new ones to replace worn out old ones, one montane velo jacket which is now used over the night visions, about 10 pairs of baggy shorts, about 5 short-sleeve jerseys, about 4 long-sleeve ones, a windproof gilet, a merino base layer, about 5 pairs of cycling shorts, not bib. And a pair of gloves. I have 1 pair of SPD sandals and 2 pairs of shoes. Oh and a buff and 2 pairs of sunglasses, one of which has 3 sets of lenses.

    OK, so...

    I have added:

    1 set of bib tights,
    6 pairs of bib shorts,
    probably 15 SS jerseys
    3 LS jerseys
    1 gilet
    2 pairs of road shoes
    1 pair of fingerless gloves
    1 pair of winter gloves
1 insanely warm wind-proof and water-resistant LS jersey thing

    I don't think that's too bad, actually...

    3x pairs bib tights
    4x SS jerseys
    1x pair SPD shoes
3x pairs fingerless gloves (only wearing one pair, others for when they get worn out)
    1x winter gloves
    1x waterproof/windproof breathable jacket
    1x skullcap
    1x pair glasses

Hehehe, not really unless you suffer from schizophrenic nationalism!

It has got an obvious explanation, my mother is from Bilbao, my father from Madrid and I love my country's diversity (and the kit)! :D

I would buy the kit if I didn't like it!!!! :o

Now if i've told you all once i've told you a million times

DO NOT LIST ALL YOUR PURCHASES IN ONE PLACE
Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.
Rule #9 // If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.
Rule #12 // The correct number of bikes to own is n+1.
Rule #42 // A bike race shall never be preceded with a swim and/or followed by a run.
