My suggestion was you don't need to keep upgrading your steed, not that you shouldn't if that is your wish. It may not apply to you, but plenty of people are somewhat sheep-like and don't think enough. Or is it that I think too much? Baaaa.

Just buy a pair of Pro 3 Race, and stop justifying it to yourself and this forum

I'm not justifying it me or the site. Hmph!

I'm justifying it to my girlfriend..... :?

When the conversation arises about my bike, I always refer to this site and the points raised.... 'Should I get this item' threads made by me are actually 'Convice my girlfriend to allow me to buy' threads...

That said in this instance I did want suggestions of alternatives to GP4000s. Will most likely be going for Pro 3 Race.

You omitted my deliberate winking smiley!

Have you ordered those tyres yet?

    Get ON with it!

Yep! I realise that sacrifice is the reward of love.

Like most women she has an uncanny way of making me feel bad when I spend any money on something she doesn't think is worth it.

"What did you get me" or "What did you buy the flat" "We're out of milk" are questions loaded with nuclear warheads....

So can people remind me what I need to apply between a carbon seatpost and a carbon frame, and also what kind of torque wrench I should be buying for mutli-purpose carbon-bike-owning purposes? Ta!

I don't bother with a torque wrench, seems like overkill really.

Am I to understand that this is the reason why my seatpost keeps slipping into the frame no matter how hard I tighten it?

If thats the case then you might have the wrong size seatpost, it shouldn't slip.

    Sorry let me rephrase slip.

It slides into the frame after having me plonk 14stones of me onto the seat over the course of a day or two. Even then its gradual but it happens.

Nope that shouldn't happen, what size post is it?

The downtube has a shimmy, the bike says it takes and the seatpost is 27.2mm
