Bruised Knee??

Not a happy bunny.
Have developed a sore knee (inside of right knee) over the past couple of days, which has kept me off the new years day club run as i'm scared to make it worse.
Have been riding my trek 1.7 for 5/6 months and have not altered seat/stem/cleat position during the past few weeks.
I rode 93km boxing day (3hr30min), 116km on sunday (4hr40min), 34km on monday (2hr - with some friends on MTBs!) and 28km (1hr) yesterday.
I felt my knee being sore/stiff early yesterday, and went for the ride, and I could feel it wasn't right when i was out on the bike.
The discomfort (i wouldnt say 'pain) has continued through last night and this morning. Upon inspection I have a small area of bruising there (not purple, but greenish). Pretty sure I have not knocked or bumped it.
My right knee has never felt 100% after hard efforts on the bike (notice this more so on hard sessions on the turbo (same bike setup), but never more than for a few minutes after coming off the bike.
Any thoughts on what has caused this? Is bruising normal? How long should I lay off?

I think bruising is not normal - suggests something slightly more than just plain old 'over-use'. Bruising is usually a sign of damage - doctor or physio would be my next stop...0

Going to keep off it for a couple of days, been poppin some ibuprofen, will see how it is on Sunday.
Spent a couple of hours servicing the bike instead of riding today.0
