Is it just me or do people ride less in the cold nowadays?

Don't have a problem with the cold. I do however have a deep seated aversion to black ice which seems to be more common than it used to be (fewer roads being gritted?) Hence no problems riding over the last couple of weeks in sub zero temperatures when the roads were dry but this week looks to be one where I will be using the car and the turbo.
with you on that one. the last few days have been very bad for black ice, I had 3 separate "incidents". Fortunately they were all at low speeds and with heightened awareness of the dangers (shaded patches of road glistening at me, or areas near ice and snow).

turbo for me this week too. man I hate the turbo.

I really want to go out, but for about the last 5 days the ice has been pretty bad around here. I went out on Saturday but there was just too much ice in the shade, and there's a lot of Shade in N. Wales, I just wasn't enjoying it.

It's got worse since then :(

I took the dog out for a walk this morning and there still loads of Ice in the sun, it was hard enough for me and the dog to walk let alone to risk riding today.

I had big plans for loads of miles over the holidays - I was ill for the first week, and then it just gets hazardous with the ice. I wish I had a MTB so I could do some offroading around Llandegla.
    I like bikes...
